Description: Come up and melt away the afternoon in the new Parlour Restaurant, now...
Come up and melt away the afternoon in the new Parlour Restaurant, now open on the first floor of Fortnum & Mason. Here, you will find exceptional ice cream, extraordinary hot chocolate and your very favourite cakes. Treats include ice cream and sorbet flights, three cones filled with three ices. You can also have the classic Knickerbocker Glory - vanilla bean, strawberry and cream ice creams with raspberries, chunks of pineapple, raspberry coulis and topped with whipped cream and candy sugar. Don't forget to try the Esterhazy Cake. Named after a Hungarian nobleman and now one of Austria's most famous cakes, it is made up of layers of hazelnut sponge filled with white butter cream and topped with sugar icing.

Nothing to get excited about

We visited here for my daughters birthday, it's quite a buzz to visit just because it's something different. The range on offer was limited although what we had was quite nice, wouldn't rush back as the menus a bit samey.

Beware if you go for the automatically added on 'tip' of 12.5% - NONE of this goes to the staff. They might as well add on 12.5% to the cost of the food but given how tiny the portions are I guess it would be taking the mickey even more! Fortnums should be ashamed of hoodwinking its customers into thinking... More

We decided to indulge and had coffee and ice cream sundae in the Parlour. What a wonderful experience. A sedate environment, good service from the staff and a latte coffee of excellent taste. We loved the mini ice cream cone accompaniment. Then there was the ice cream sundae - superb. Nothing else to say except 'go visit and enjoy'

The décor and menu is really good, the food is really nicely done. The service is diabolical, I don't know what it is with the weekend staff but they seem so disinterested, 9 out of ten times it's so bad it's entertaining, 1 out of ten times it's beyond annoying!

We stopped in almost by accident whilst in the store buying Christmas Treats. My daughter said the ice cream looks good, the queue was short, so we decided to indulge. Banana splits all round and tea served in a good pot. The staff were very smiley and polite. We found the service prompt but not rushed. I particularly liked that... More

We popped in here while heading to Bond St looking for a place for a coffee. The restaurant is like a brightly coloured ice cream parlour (I guess that's where the name comes from). We were seated and checked out the menu. The sundaes sounded wonderful and we saw a knickerbocker glory on the next table and knew that you... More

We ordered a couple,of coffees and they arrived promptly with an added treat of a mini ice cream cone on the side. They do some light lunches here as well which we would investigate in the future after the dire service from the fountain restaurant.

I visited the Parlour on a Sunday before looking at all the Christmas stock! We decided we only wanted a light lunch, so having looked at the menu beforehand, decided the Parlour would be idea. Service was quick and staff polite, the atmosphere was lovely being a light, warm area. We both had the cheese on toast with a coffee.... More

Having visited The Parlour over the last few years as a treat when in London, I was disappointed with my visit this time. It was only the company that made it special. Firstly, the menu seems to have decreased in size; instead of the many choices we used to enjoy, we were presented with a small, one-sided card of options.... More

Fortnum & Masons may boast having a Royal Warrant, but my experience of their 1st floor tea parlour got me into a royal rage. Look, I just wanted a nice cup of coffee, and this 'experience' took me ONE HOUR, people! How does it take 20 minutes to place an order for coffee in a half-full tea parlour, or another... More

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
