Pricey Ice Cream Treat

I had been wanting to eat at The Parlour for my recent trip. I made reservations in advance for a noon lunch. I arrived early and was seated promptly. The ambiance is casual; there are no linen napkins or table cloth. The drink service was quick, as was the entree. The servers are very personable... read more

I went with Fortnum's Favourite. Their coffee comes with a mini ice cream cone and a little scoop of coffee ice cream. Both were delightful. I had the soup of the day (broccoli), the soup was perfect for warming me up on a cold windy day and not too filling which meant enough room for ice cream! A scoop of... More

Visits for a friend's birthday. We all had a special sundae and hoy chocolates which were lovely. The sundaes were great too. The staff presented my friend with balloons and a cake which was very kind. Would visit again.

The Parlour is a little more expensive than a lot of comparable places but the ambiance is very different. A lovely place for a shopping break and worth paying that bit extra.

We've been popping in for tea and a rest for many years, and always enjoyed a quiet and relaxing half hour. Now the very nice tea pots have been replaced with what feels like a cheap alternative - a pot and cup combination that just doesn't feel 'Fortnums' at all. Yesterday our tea was cool, we had to request hot... More

Located on the first floor of Fortnum and Mason this is a comfortable place for coffee and cakes or a light lunch of you want something a bit more upmarket than the Costa's and Nero's nearby. Of course you have to pay accordingly

..but nothing extraordinary, we had a mid shopping break of ice cream, tea and milk shakes. Service was cordial but it was very difficult to get the staff's attention to ask for the bill.

The Parlour is always pleasant - delicious cakes and ice-cream and enjoyable food. The surroundings are lovely and it is a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Unfortunately the service is slow and random, for such an establishment, this is definitely a let-down. Once this is improved it'd be the perfect treat!

I have visited the Parlour several times now for ice cream with family and friends. Sometimes at the start you get given mini-cones, other times not. The ice cream options are lovely, if a little pricey and it is a nice treat to do, especially with children. Tables are quite crammed in so it can be a bit noisy. I... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
