lovely gluten free scones, but no other gluten free cakes

I have been to The Parlour several times and I really like it. However, although they do gluten free bread, and so there are several savoury options I can have, I was disappointed that the only GFcake/pudding (aside from the ice creams - don't know about these as have never asked) choice was GF... read more

We were told that the only place in the store which just served coffee was in the Parlour. We had to queue for about 20 minutes; wait for a menu for a further 15 and eventually we ordered (one double scoop of ice cream and 1 ice cream float). After a further wait, our order arrived, but there was no... More

This is a lovely little cafe in Fortnum & Mason. The macaroons are delicious and the ice cream sundaes are delish! I had the Dusty Roads and was not disappointed!

Met up with friends here for coffee. Capaccino was served with a tiny ice cream cone (chocolate) which was a fun idea. Waiter was very friendly and took a photo of our group for us.

It wa such a pleasure to visit The Parlour and receive a courteous welcome and excellent service, no less than one would expect at Fortnum & Mason. Great range of ice cream, although carrot cake very dry and somewhat tasteless. Nevertheless, having had less than good service somewhere else for lunch, it was quite a treat to visit The Parlour.

Met with a friend at The Parlour today for lunch and ice cream. Firstly, I must say that the service was very good and they were very understanding that I was running late and allowed my friend to hold the table having a cup of tea whilst she waited for me. Lunch was tasty, but very expensive for the portion... More

From the lady who greeted us, to the girl who took our order, to the men who served us and especially the Head Waiter, there was not a smile amongst them. Had they all been told they were being made redundant? They should be told that they are in the hospitality business and that a smile is worth a thousand... More

The key success of this place is that the servers are amazing. Very nice, very friendly, very accommodating. Your request will not be turned down. It's super expensive, so at least the service matches the prices. I can't comment all that much on the food as we really just got iced cream and tea. We had four samples of ice... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
