Wonderful treat

The least " posh " atmosphere of all F&M restaurants I think . Stopped for lunch after walking though the area for ages. Very friendly personnel who did not treat me like the , obvious, tourist I am. Yes it is expensive , a sparkling mineral water, tea, welsh rarebit and two scones for 28 pounds... read more

The highlight of my trip to London was supposed to be my visit to Fortnum & Mason, reliving a trip I had taken with my father many years before. First stop was The Parlour on the first floor. I expected it to be busy and was prepared for a wait but what I was not prepared for was the rudeness... More

My daughter and I visited for a surprise birthday treat. Staff were exceptional, extremely attentive and very polite. The surroundings were lovely and it was not too crowded. The menu was limited for savoury food but this did not worry us as we both chose a different quiche. They were small but delicious served with a handful of mixed leaves... More

The children all loved the ice cream delights at the Parlour and requested a return visit! Delicious treats and smiling faces perfect start to an afternoon of sightseeing!

It was one of those rare days 'off', when we dropped the kids at school, watched the eclipse (or not, thank you, clouds) over a hot chocolate, then wandered into Piccadilly for an early lunch and a browse around the shops. We popped into Fortnum & Mason, as you do, to admire (and sample ) the amazing Easter chocolate displays,... More

We arrived early for our wedding reception lunch and were greeted with smiles and water for my flowers from the start. We enjoyed our pre-ordered food which came easily as the servers had listened to my request for name cards. We all enjoyed our food and into the night when the atmosphere changed it made for an amazing bar with... More

We visited here for my daughters birthday, it's quite a buzz to visit just because it's something different. The range on offer was limited although what we had was quite nice, wouldn't rush back as the menus a bit samey.

Beware if you go for the automatically added on 'tip' of 12.5% - NONE of this goes to the staff. They might as well add on 12.5% to the cost of the food but given how tiny the portions are I guess it would be taking the mickey even more! Fortnums should be ashamed of hoodwinking its customers into thinking... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
