Fresh, tasty food but some dishes overpriced

Met with a friend at The Parlour today for lunch and ice cream. Firstly, I must say that the service was very good and they were very understanding that I was running late and allowed my friend to hold the table having a cup of tea whilst she waited for me. Lunch was tasty, but very expensive... read more

From the lady who greeted us, to the girl who took our order, to the men who served us and especially the Head Waiter, there was not a smile amongst them. Had they all been told they were being made redundant? They should be told that they are in the hospitality business and that a smile is worth a thousand... More

The key success of this place is that the servers are amazing. Very nice, very friendly, very accommodating. Your request will not be turned down. It's super expensive, so at least the service matches the prices. I can't comment all that much on the food as we really just got iced cream and tea. We had four samples of ice... More

I went with a friend to this place and the food is ok, I add a salmon sandwich which was very nice and some scones with an ice cream, but this type of good food you can find anywhere in London, the thing that stand up the most from other places i been was the service the waiter was great... More

The highlight of my trip to London was supposed to be my visit to Fortnum & Mason, reliving a trip I had taken with my father many years before. First stop was The Parlour on the first floor. I expected it to be busy and was prepared for a wait but what I was not prepared for was the rudeness... More

The least " posh " atmosphere of all F&M restaurants I think . Stopped for lunch after walking though the area for ages. Very friendly personnel who did not treat me like the , obvious, tourist I am. Yes it is expensive , a sparkling mineral water, tea, welsh rarebit and two scones for 28 pounds but then again eating... More

My daughter and I visited for a surprise birthday treat. Staff were exceptional, extremely attentive and very polite. The surroundings were lovely and it was not too crowded. The menu was limited for savoury food but this did not worry us as we both chose a different quiche. They were small but delicious served with a handful of mixed leaves... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
