Fortnums's Wine Bar

Great fun to spend an hour or two with family and friends, with the odd bottle of wine and some fun food. The place has a real buzz. Service was good. You can then wander out into the wine hall and stock up on some of the goodies you have just tasted !

Poor service, freshness of food is very questionable. Management is terrible, food counter is overpriced and very average. Avoid!!

I called into Fortnum’s in December to buy some Christmas presents and then settled down in the restaurant for breakfast thinking I would give myself a treat whilst catching up with some work. The pot of tea arrived but no toasted teacakes. I enquired and eventually they arrived, stone cold with a lump of frozen butter. Presumably they had been... More

No trip to London would be complete without a High Tea experience. This is worth every penny. Pierre Maitre and his staff have a magnificent product, right down to the changing of the table cloths. The tea is endless and the sandwiches and cakes insurmountable. An excellent afternoon.

I purchased two vouchers for Afternoon Tea Course (?) as a gift via TIme OUT. SO FAR There have necessitated about 4/5 phone calls and a personal visit to the store to try and confirm the date & time as its a gift. STILL Not confirmed & it is taking all the pleasure out of the gift. EVERYONE says talk... More

Even if Service is not the one of the past. If i didn't tell the girl my tea was the Royal blend she was giving me earl grey instead of mine! The tea is a bit different from the other places as sandwiches are huge. Just one huge bread's slice with tons of crab on Scones are amazing. Clotted cream... More

After a long day of shopping and culture, there's nothing more fun that a glorious indulgent ice cream, sticky cakes and the very best tea (or hot chocolate depending upon your fancy). More relaxed than the other F&M restaurants but a great fun environment and the usual superb quality of food and drinks. Ice cream choices are fantastic!

My mother attended this restaurant stating she had a reservation but because she was elderly she got confused with the first floor restaurant. The staff here did not have the decency or care to direct her to the restaurant instead ignored her. Poor service you would never get this Harrods. I made a complaint but still haven't received a reply.

First time here, arrived at Fortnum and Mason, with a large party and we had booked the drawing room. Walked through the shop floor up the stairs and we were each presented with a glass of champagne, sat down for lunch, given some really good warm rolls for the table. (Also each chair had a small complimentary bag of Cookies... More

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
