Conveniently located across the street from Baker St station we had dinner here with a few friends. They ran out of a few dishes we wanted to order on the menu. They didn't seem to offer main dishes except a few soups. I needed to order three dishes to feel full. I had deep fried oysters, tuna and salmon makl rolls.... More

The food at this restaurant is great, but the staffs are very rude. They misunderstood our order and it took us 10 minutes to explain that to them as they could not communicate in English well. Once they understood, they would not change the food for us.

I can't imagine a friendlier restaurant experience than we get at SOHO Japan. They have nice japanese food at great value, and are very kid-friendly to boot. If you go there more than once, they'll probably remember you and what you ordered last time. They don't waste money on flash or frills, they just give you good food and a... More

My husband and I popped in and had some sushi and the fried squid. The food was tasty and authentic. There were many Japanese customers, so you know that this is the real deal! Lovely service. Will be back for sure!

Just opposite Baker street tube exit makes this lovely restaurant easy to find. Staff a bit over eager at first but once they realised we were there to enjoy a relaxed evening with friends not there to eat and go they relaxed. The food was a real treat, everything beautifully presented and prepared. The appetisers were fantastic, especially the mackerel... More

We are no expert on Japanese cousine, but the place was clean, received good service; the sushi and sake were to our liking as well. Would visit again and recommend to a friend.

This fabulous innexpensive find in the dizzy array of Londons Japanese/sushi eateries is a truly marvellous treasure, having eaten brilliantly many times at their previous address. Please put back on the menu Charcoal grilled salmon fillet with a sea salt dipping pyramid/miso soup/ and rice as this superbly cooked combination hits the spot every time.Fall in love with the courteous owner and... A small brasserie-type restaurant now in the former Base Restaurant. A good menu selection with a range of tasty dishes probably best described as Japanese style, tailored for the UK market. Most of the clientele other than us appeared to be Japanese. Some raw fish dishes, but also grilled fish and shellfish, with a few meat dishes, also tempura and... More

The Baker Street reincarnation of what was a well-run, but slightly odd little restaurant further south, seems to have taken a few months to adapt to its new surroundings. Over the space of a few visits here during the summer, the quality and consistency of dishes has improved greatly. Despite the move, but perhaps because it seems to be run... More

Tried various items all of which did not resemble Japanese food. Most staff are Taiwanese and do not understand Japanese dishes. The one Japanese member of staff there agreed is was not Japanese style but said this was what their customers wanted. The Udon, described as 'Noodles' was recognisable but crazily priced.
