Our menu takes inspiration from the beautiful palm fringed region of Goa (where my Ma learnt to cook) but also takes influences from other parts of India.Since its opening in 1993, we have won critical acclaim from many top critics & we take pride in the fact that we are a genuine family-run restaurant. Our mission has always been to serve tasty, fresh, unpretentious home-style cooking in a warm & friendly setting.Situated 2 minutes away from Putney British Rail & 5 minutes away from East Putney Tube it makes a perfect venue before a night on the town. I ventured to South London with some friends last Friday evening and was immediately greeted with the warmth of the kitchen-the smell of home cooking is a true delight- and a friendly welcome. There were three of us together that evening and we were seated on a comfortable table in the back corner of the restaurant. I could see that... More

I have been to Ma Goa previously and as usual we had a lovely meal. I went for the vindaloo...again (a personal favourite!) while my friend went for the daal of the day and the fish curry. I tried a bit of the curry and the taste was full of flavour. Dessert was a joy too! I had an Indian... More

Ordered a takeaway and at £48 not cheap for two. What can I say but if you love eating nothing but cloves then this is the place for you. Dhaal was tasteless, lamb so tough I couldn't be bothered and the rice so bland, speechless, straight in the bin, along with the breads and chicken curry on the bone, same... More

Dined early but it still took 35 minutes for food to come; there was only 1 other table of 2 diners. Waiters running around taking take out orders. Food is OK but the nan was burnt on one side and soggy on the other. Josdht is OK and Tika was not juicy.

I have been going to Ma Goa regularly ever since I first arrived in Putney nearly nine years ago, and so far it has never failed to delight. It's not the cheapest Indian option in southwest London, but in my humble opinion it is by far the best, both in terms of quality and value for what you get. Service... More

Just came back tonight from Ma Goa. We had very much looked forward to our dinner based on a lot of good reviews. The dinning experience was rather disappointing. Service was bad: we had to ask for glasses twice after drinks arrived, had to ask 4 waiters to place the food order, all was thrown on the table, we wanted... More

I had been to Ma Goa before and it was ok, nothing special but nothing bad either. This last time we went the fish curry I had was very fishy and the sauce was quite plain. I found the fish so unpleasant that I couldn't eat it, but I didn't have the heart to return it. I think the quality... More

Have meant to try Ma Goa for a while(a couple of years actually) to try a different style of 'Indian' cuisine and last night we were nearby and so finally did - it was well worth it! We had no reservation but that was no problem to the staff, all of whom were very welcoming and efficient. Partner was pleased... More

The restaurant was very busy. The presentation was excellent with beautifully folded linen napkins and decor. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Very good atmosphere and the food was certainly outstanding. Big portions too. I had the lamb which was tender and cooked to perfection and my friend had a chicken korma which he said was very nice. Will... More
