I really really love this place. Not too expensive, nice staff, nice decor, great food. Can't wait to come back.

Gray selection of real ale about 16 hand pumps in all. Had the garlic bread and pizza, very nice and large portion size, as good as any restaurant I have been to, prices are reasonable.

Visited for drinks. Great selection of craft beers, even my non beer-drinking friend had a glass of porter. Friendly staff and clientele. I hope the Lego building was successful.

Big old stone building with hardwood floors serving a full range of Milton Brewery ales from wood casks plus a couple of guests. We went on a recent Sunday for lunch which has a restricted menu to accommodate the stonking Sunday roasts coming out of the kitchen. The wife had tagliatelle with crab and I had a monster piece of... More

I often taken my son there for dinner and he loves it: great pizzas and other dishes for under £10. Great atmosphere.

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor and looked at the website as we needed a family friendly venue to book a table for 12 after a trip to Hackney Empire. We liked the look of the pub and the menu and called to book a table. We were told that we could not book but that the manager would... More

This is for me the definition of a pub - public house. Big, spacious room with lots of tables filled with people just in from a day of work having a pint and some food. The food was really good (I had pizza) and the beer even better. They had a wide selection of locally brewed ales and also a... More

The Pembury Tavern has fast become one of my favourite pubs in Hackney. Set in what feels like a giant, rickety Victorian canteen, this place is fun and friendly and incorporates an interesting mix of creatives and locals without being pretentious. There's a cracking beer selection, they serve decent grub (I think they changed chef in the past year or... More

We happened to be in London during the Pembury's November Beer and Cider festival. I like the real ciders and my friend likes the real ales. This pub didn't disappoint. And rather than pub grub, the menu is Mediterranean. The festival takes over a corner of the pub. Beer and cider selections are listed on a program and crossed off... More
