Food came very quickly and was delicious. Great value. The BBQ lamb loin is superb. Sat at the bar - perfect for a quick bite.

At first apprehensive having a Vietnamese dinner along Kingsland Road after not such a great experience previous time, I am glad my friend was able to sway my mind to try this place. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service quick and friendly. Looking forward to another visit again.

We had an early supper before a show at the Hackney Empire. The starter (deep fried chicken wings) was very good. My main course was pretty tasteless: you could see the herbs and sauce, but somehow they had not penetrated the noodles at all. My friend ordered a duck dish from the specials menu, which she said was good. On... More

lovely menu and great service the front room of the restaurant looks nicer but smells too much like food so we went to the back room which not as nice but a bit more relaxed food was yummy!!!

After reading some mixed reviews on Tripadvisor, on balance I thought this was the restaurant to go for ahead of a show at the Hackney Empire starting at 1930. I was unable to book on Monday as they were closed, so as soon as we alighted from the train at Hackney Central, I called the Green Papaya at 1800 and... More

We made a booking for 5 people at 6.00 pm on a Friday and were shown to a nice table at the back of the restaurant which was relatively empty at this time of the evening. In retrospect, I would have preferred to have sat at the front where there is a little more atmosphere. If you are very hungry,... More

Sunday dinner for 2. We shared the prawn crackers, spring rolls and salted squid for starters. The rolls were VERY greasy and tasteless (as the sauce that goes with them). The squid was ok but nothing to rave about, as for the crackers, well... They're crackers.. For mains I had the baked salmon and my friend the Beef Pho. Both... More

...it all started with a plate of Chinese-style deep-fried tofu bites. Been missing the fresh and fragrant twist of the Vietnamese cuisine. The pho tasted like a very boring soup, and I never had a more bland 'pho'. They're adding a few chopped herbs, and when I asked for fresh basil & cilantro, the waiter wasn't too impressed but brought... More

-Clean -Reasonable food: nothing to shout about. -Popular space for midweek meals so you’re not alone -Staff uncommunicative and not very helpful We wanted a local night out for a midweek evening meal and chose Green Papaya as it’d often been busy. I ordered pho, which was pretty standard and nothing to shout about. It didn’t boast the freshness or... More

Food is average Vietnamese food, but service is terrible, they lie to you, so that you spend more money. I specifically ask for a small meal, and ended up having food for 2. And you only get a greedy smile if you leave a tip.
