Having been to both the restaurants in Hackney and Hoxton, I'm delighted to say that I've never been disappointed and have always come away happy. ...enjoy!

I have eaten here several times over the past few years and it is still the best Vietnamese food I have had outside of Vietnam. The restaurant has had a facelift and gone very Hackney but the food is still amazing. Soft shell crab and summer rolls were excellent and the udon noodles with beansprouts were to die for. Still... We booked for a Friday night, and although a tiny place heaving with customers, they made sure we only waited a few minutes. Amazing soft shell crab as a starter and very good crispy squid. For mains we had chicken with ginger, spring onion and lemongrass ( probably my mistake as I'm not too keen on lemongrass so it was... More

Food bland, tasteless and quite simply awful and a total waste of money! Yuk! Chef needs to taste what is being put out there>

Popped in for a bit of dinner and was not disappointed! Service was great - the guy running the place knew his stuff and even made me some tofu summer rolls as I don't eat fish - they were incredible. Light and fresh and perfectly balanced. Amazing. I had a massive bowl of Pho for main - and couldn't finish... More

Super tasty food, all fresh and happy, super friendly service, great prices and one of the best and most surprising selection of dishes! Lots of choices, lots of vegetables. They really do know what they're doing there (: All of the above make me want to go to Green Papaya every time I consider eating out. Try to book a... More

We were on our way to another vietnamese restaurant on Mare street but saw that this place was buzzing so decided to stop there. We did well! The summer rolls were nice and fresh and my chicken Pho was also really good! Will definitely visit again.

Having tried other Vietnamese in Hackney it was great to get back to the Green Papaya. The food was really fresh and tasty, lovely crispy squid with purple bsil dip and excellent beef salad. In future we'll stick to the Green Papaya for our Vietnamese fix.

I came here for a light bite and was amazed at the quality of the food. I shared a selection of starters including the soft shell crab (absolutely mind blowing- deep fried in a light batter then topped with crispy onions, bread crumbs, chilli and spring onion), fried sweet potato and king prawns (cooked perfectly with a delicious, light batter)... Its good to attend a restaurant which lives up to your best expectations. In this case, as we where from out of town and wanted a top notch cheap and cheerful meal before going to the Olympic Stadium, all three of us had a great time and felt lucky to have found Green Papaya. Totally unpretentious place quite easy to... More
