Elegant Japanese styling and delicious fresh food await you at London's Benihana Restaurant. Benihana is a favourite not only of tourists but of locals fresh from the nearby offices, relaxing with colleagues or indeed entertaining clients. In keeping with the Benihana brand the chain began in New York way back in 1964, this means that this year, 2014 is our 50th anniversary. This superb Japanese restaurant swaps the conventional kitchen for a central hibachi grill around which diners watch their food being prepared before their eyes. Boasting a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes traditionally cooked Benihana offers a unique Japanese dining experience not to be missed.

The place is a bit pricey if you compare the quality and amount of food you are paying for but you need to remember that you are paying not only for the food but also the experience. We requested the lady who greated us to provide us with a good chef (good as in good entertainment value) and we totally... More

I used to come to this restaurant a few years back and it was definitely better. We were a large group so we booked the private room for 12. Min spend is GBP 60 per person which would be ok if the food and service had been up to scratch. We chose a menu at GBP 45 and received: 1... More

This has been a firm favourite for many years and it's still good! Always an experience as well as a delicious meal. They are fairly gluten-free friendly as they will use GF soy sauce if you request it- only wish they could do the amazing soup and salad dressing GF too!

Went for lunch but found that no other customers at that time. The waitress guided us to sit on Teppanyaki table and left us for w while to read their menu. Since then they didn't come up to ask our order, i needed to go to find them to take my order. Waited for 20 minutes the waitress put a... More

My 1st visit to Benihana was great. A group of 8 of us went and the food was outstanding, the steak was to die for, I cannot wait to go back. The apple Martinis are also a must!!

Visited this restaurant a couple of days ago and wow!! Loved every minute! Cocktails were delicious, chefs served great comedy & entertainment as well as yummy food! But on the pricey side but was all worth it... I fully enjoyed watching everything I was about to eat cooked freshly in front of me :-)

Benihana's concept of dining is great for groups of friends or colleagues who are looking for some fun before painting the town red later... Basically, you get seated around the hot plate table and the cook gives you the cooking show. There are 8 seats around each table, so if coming in a couple or so, don't be surprised to... More

I'd always wanted to go to Benihana and I finally decided to take my girlfriend. I was impressed, astonished and "wow-ed" by the cook doing his tricks. Once I settled down my huge "kid" smile, I thought to myself: "will it be the same tricks next time I come?" "do you enjoy it as much the next few times?". But... More

I had heard of Benihana before and had previously watched the video on the website. It was a place I had always wanted to go. Myself and the girlfriend got there at 17:30 so it was empty. There was a group of 3 who turned up shortly after so we all sat on the same table. The cook we had... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
