Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

Preferred for dinner

This old favourite serves very good food and doesn't disappoint, albeit this is in the price; however I always find the atmosphere a little lacking at lunchtime - more a dinner venue.

Been wanting to dine here for ages. Have been put off in past by reviews about rushed service, rude staff and prices. Glad we finally went to see for ourselves. Food was some of the finest we have eaten anywhere. Great choice of fresh fish and a few non-fish options. Dining room was elegant and table spacious. Service friendly and... More

Possibly the best seafood in the world. The place rocks! Can't beat it overall. Nicely decorated rooms, very attentive staff, informal atmosphere, unbelievably great food. We sat at the bar and made friends with everybody around us. Then moved to a table. The outdoor tables are also nice. Highly recommend the crab, fish & chips, and Dover sole. Scott's has... More

Visted on a busy Saturday night, service was very good although when leaving the door staff were indifferent. We didn't have any seafood, just steak and lamb. To be honest the food was pleasant but not exceptional. We wouldn't rush back.

A trip to Scott's is never a disappointment. The food is always first class, the service friendly and efficient. Always made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Thanks for another great evening.

If you work or live in Mayfair or you are a bit of a face in either show biz or just biz and use Scotts as your local canteen they might be bothered to recognize and greet you. If you use the place about once a month as we do - not a hint of a personal hello at the... More

The food was amazing! The best place to go for a fish. Service was very good; waiters were receptive and friendly. The ambiance/atmosphere was perfect for a dinner. Girlfriend loved it. I'll be visiting this place soon! P.S. Be willing to spend a few quid but it is definitely worth it.

This is why you go to a Michelin star restaurant in Mayfair! I have been really disappointed with a number of others. We were welcomed out of the cab and politely shown to the stunning classic interior- which is a leather, wooden, library style oasis. Most of the guests (this was a Monday night) were smartly dressed in suits etc... More

Have wanted to eat here for ages and was pleased when I managed to book a table. However if you want to go to a restaurant where they make a fuss of you, whoever you are, I recommend La Pont de la Tour. When we arrived, there was no one on the door, no one took our coats or asked... More

I was taken to Scott's for my birthday having wanted to try it ever since attending a private dining event there earlier in the year. We booked late so ate at the bar, which I personally like as you get a bit of a buzz around you when seated with a mix of customers drinking and a few eating. However,... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
