Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

Out of the Caprice stable, this is a posh J Sheekey. Friendly welcome both at the door and reception then we had a drink at the classy bar as we waited for all four of us to arrive. When ready I returned to the desk and we were immediately shown to our table. Service was excellent as was the atmosphere.... More

Chose this restaurant to meet an old friend from overseas. Well received on arrival, quiet and exemplary setting, with great service and extremely tasteful food, particularly the fish. Good selection of wines and petit fours with the peppermint tea was a pleasant surprise. Will definitely return.

great Location near South Audley street. We had dinner in a private room as this was a business meeting for a larger group. Service was prompt and accurate. The room was Ok for conversation - not too noisy.

After a fraught morning of serious shopping in the West End, I was rather dreading the prospect of best behavior and good manners at Scott's for lunch. In fact the atmosphere of families and children and grandparents, though irrelevant to a restaurant review, was so relaxed, the staff so welcoming and the service so swift and flawless that I didn't... One of the staples for fish in London. Nice atmosphere, although customers were a bit on the old side. Good service. But not impressed with food. Had a big seafood platter that looked amazing but had been cooked well in advance and been on ice for so lng that was difficult to taste differences. A bit of disappointment. Other plates... More

Fresh, delicate cooking of the freshest Billingsgate has to offer; perfect matching of sauces; the best raw bar I have ever seen, every single time I see it. Their care of you and your family's needs while dining with them; and, according to my youngest? Scott's prepares the best Pomme Frites in the world. Believe me, she should know ;-)

Having scared the living day lights out of my wife because I had booked this restaurant for my birthday, she now understands that this is a restaurant like no ordinary high end eatery. We arrived for a 18:00 table on a Monday and the ambience was what I would call very relaxed. We had the the table for two hours and we're... We were a party of 5 dining on Wednesday 18th, I say this because our main waitress was fabulous and I hope she'll be recognised! Our welcome was warm, drinks at the bar charming, the staff the best I've come across in their way of handling people. The atmosphere was buzzing when we arrived, yet you could still talk and... Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
