Originally an oyster warehouse, Scott's has been serving up its legendary seafood since 1851. A conveniently short walk from Green Park and Bond Street tube stations, this Mayfair mainstay uses burgundy leather banquettes and subdued lighting to create an air of old-school elegance which reflects the restaurant's chic clientele. Designed by Martin Brudnizki and highlighted by the exquisite bar topped with onyx and finished in stingray skin, the revamped interior of Scott's still carries the 1960's glamour of yesteryear. Traditional fish and seafood dishes dominate the menu, although seasonal meat and game make an appearance. Atlantic Halibut, Dover Sole and Lobster have proven to be popular choices, and there is also a Roasted Shellfish platter for two to share. The famous oyster bar with its three-metre crustacean display offers a more relaxed dining area and there is also an art deco-style private dining room, ideal for canapé receptions, press launches and private celebrations.

An institution with the Sole and Thermidor being the standouts. Classy crowd and professional service are a great complement to the food! A must visit.

Food and service was excellent. Plenty of different items for picky eaters, even vegetarians. Waiter was happy to offer solutions. Hostess and Host jumped to bring colored pencils for kids when asked.

I visited here last week for a birthday meal and had a great time. The food is mainly fish, however they have a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes too so there is something for everyone. The service was excellent and the staff were very efficient and friendly. The restaurant had a great atmosphere about it and we didnt feel... More

Visited for lunch with friends, the service is first class and the food is excellent. Specialises in seafood and the menu is extensive, I went for the prawns with chilli jam to start with followed by the whole grilled lobster, both were excellent. Price wise it is a bit expensive but it's not the sort of place you eat at... More

On the 18th of April I surprised my wife on our anniversary to a meal at Scotts. She had been wanting to go for a while. I must say I was expecting great things, particularly after reading the reviews. Unfortunately the food was good but not great. In fact the one thing that stood out was the cucumber spritzer...that was... More

I have been to Scotts on numerous occasions and it has been great. So I recommended it when my family came down to go for dinner thinking you can't go wrong however it was very disappointing. No drinks for 30mins, my seat got whacked by staff everytime they went past I counted 20times in about an hour to the point... More

Our first time at Scott's. Busy Tuesday evening, pretty impersonal service approach - but fast enough given how busy the restaurant was. Oysters recommended were the most expensive - they were very nice. I had the scallops, but they were sadly over-cooked and rubbery. Husband had grilled prawns, he said they were delicious. We shared the fish for 2, it... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
