Great little place worth a visit

Once we entered we was amazed by the private green booths which was of the unusual and funkiness. The menu is extensive with a wide range of food - so much that was spoilt for choice. The food was very delicious with authentic flavours, not too oily, fresh and hot . The price is very reasonable... read more

This is a restaurant that has been around a long time, and you can understand why. The interior is a bit of a throw back perhaps to the 1970s and 1980s, but it does exude a certain charm with it's cubicle eating areas to the sides of the restaurant. The food is very good, very tasty and the service has... More

My cousin and I came here for dinner in August and I have to say, this has to be one of the best curry houses I have been to in London. The service is good, drinks and food are very reasonably priced and the food is authentic and excellent. We ordered two curries (chicken and then a lamb rogan josh),... More

Have visited and had take aways / deliveries many times over the years. Under (fairly recent) new ownership but remains consistently good in every respect.

A curry house would not be the top of my list for a romantic meal, but the Romna Gate can be, with the secluded stained glass booths you are detached from the rest of the restaurant giving you privacy and a perfect place for a lovely night out................... It obviously helps if the food is good and thankfully it is... More

Fantastic decor, great food, lovely staff, we come back here over and over for very good reasons! There are so many bad curry restaurants in London, this isn't one of them.

This Indian restaurant opened over 35 years ago and unlike most of its rivals spent a small fortune on interior decoration. Along with booths and stained glass windows and mirrors, this is not your typical curry house. Years on, the decor is slightly faded but still sufficiently unusual to catch your attention. Sitting in a booth away from possible noisy... More

Have been coming here for years and it never lets you down. The service is always prompt, the food is always excellent and the booths give a good degree of privacy. Only complaint is that they really shouldn't be charging nearly £4 for water, that is west end rip off prices.

Was meeting a friend for a few beers and a curry in Southgate and this was recommended as a very good restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent and the price was fair. If you are in London, it is worth the trip to North London to eat here.

I've been coming to this restaurant since I was knee high. As most of what I call '70's' Indian restaurants have all but disappeared, I now use this place as the benchmark to judge others. Can honestly say I've never had a bad meal in here. Favourites include the non-vegetable thali. Consisting of lamb bhuna, chicken pasanda, tandoori chicken, chicken... More
