Lovely atmosphere, lovely food

We did not have to wait at all. We were greeted at the door and immediately offered a table. The food was lovely, and the service was very friendly. You are also given a complimentary dish of olives before the meal and a few Turkish Delight (I think, they are rose water) after the meal, which... read more

Very recently discovered this authentic turkish restaurant at St Christopher's Place in London. Very good quality food, freshly prepared, authentic and very good value for what you pay. Try the lambs liver (Arnavut ciğeri), cheese pastry (börek), hellim, Fındık lahmacun for starters and enjoy a glass of Ayran with it too. Decorations are very turkish/ottoman and create a great ambiance... More

We went to the Grand Bazaar late on a Friday evening after going to a show that over-ran -- its main advantage over other nearby restaurants being that it was prepared to serve us at 11.30. The place itself is a bit dark and cramped, but the food is actually quite good. We had Zeytinyagli Bakla (broad beans) and Hellim... More

Tucked away behind Bond St in the West End is where you'll find Grand Bazaar, and you could even be forgiven for walking past it. My friend and I were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Whilst it wasn't particularly busy service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind as the decor provided much interest and fascination. We... More

We stumbled across this cafe/restaurant when taking a walk around London. As soon as you enter it has a fantastic atmosphere, with its many lamps and lanterns adorning the ceiling, in addition to Turkish artwork on the walls and good seating areas. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service was good. The food is really authentic - particularly the... More

From the moment we stepped inside this little eating joint just off Oxford Street we had a amazing experience. The ambience, artefacts, the decor all reminded us of a trip to Turkey in the recent past. The food is amazing with good options for Vegetarians too. The Grand Mezze must be tried.

A friend of mine had been to this restaurant before and loved it so I was really keen to give it a try myself. I went at lunchtime and it was busy but I soon found out why. The food is fantastic and the decor, reminiscent of a Turkish souk, is charming without being over the top. There is a... More

This restaurant is on a side street next to Suffridge's on Oxford Street. The decor is very middle eastern to Turkish. We ordered the sampler menu which gives you many small plates so you can sample a variety of dishes. Next time I'd order a kabob or something more predictable. Nevertheless, it was a fun place to eat after shopping.

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
