old school restaurant, food is average at best. place is always busy. the clientèle seem to be hipsters and snobs who believe the food is great just because it has a bit of a name for itself. nothing special. service was non existant.

If you want to have a taste of panjabi cousin, then you have to dine in this amazing place. The lamb chops are simply the best ever in the world!! There will be always a long queue outside and inside to have a seat, even if there are three floors in the restaurant. Staff is cool, friendly and quick, to... More

we were told that this was the place to go and being behind the Royal London Hospital, we were looking forward to a nostalgic trip. We had a table of five which meant we had plenty of space on our round table but two places were in the way of the route immediately in front of the kitchen which was... More

This place sends lovely curry aromas into the old outpatient clinic of the nearby London Hospital. Have not been in evening but for lunch the service is satisfactory if not overly prompt. Not too busy - just drop in. The special menu on Thursday is lamb chop; unusual, tasty and tender.

Whenever I am in the area I go to this restaurant and am always happy. But last few occasion the food and service has gone down hill especially the last time I went on which was 18th September 2014. The waiter pointed to the direction for a table and had to wait few minutes for the menu to arrive and... More

Great food. If you enjoy spicy Indian food that is more than vegetarian fare. Service ok. If you want alcohol, bring your own.

Decided to pay a visit after having a lovely meal here for a friend's birthday a couple of years ago. Experience today was horrible. We were squashed into a tiny table and almost made to share space with another couple, who complained and were given a table elsewhere. I don't blame them for asking to be moved - the restaurant... I've been twice to Tayyabs. The food is lovely, prices not too high and you can bring you own alcohol which also helps to maintain low bill. First time there were just 2 of us and apart of overall rushed and hectic atmosphere everything was fine. Therefore I decided to book a party of 18 there to celebrate birthday... I... More

i have to say i am not one for being particular patient when it comes to food, and being faced with a long queue can be a turn around moment. However after hearing strong reviews of a must try, with also the ability to bring your own drink to enjoy in the queue, it can actually become quite a social... More

One of a few authentic Pakistani restaurants in the heart of Bengali Whitechapel. The starters are varied from their famous lamb chops (which many competitors have tried to emulate, unsuccessfully) to their authentic shammi kebabs (N.B. these are only served on Wednesdays). The menu has a large selection of kharahi dishes - they're all superb. They also have daily specials.... More
