Have been to tayyabs twice now - once for evening group meal and once for lunch. The food is excellent - I suggest the house Kalahi curries. Prices very good too - I had a selection of grilled meats to start, main curry, rice and naan for £15. The place was packed on both occasions - i suggest booking! Much... More

I've been to tayyabs on many occasions with my family. The food has always been amazing in particular the lamb chops, masala fish and naan bread. The service however isn't as good as the food but I think the food does out weigh this. Always love going here.

I have been to many low end, mediocre and fine dining restuarants in London serving Indian or for that matter any food. But, I have never come across a place as HORRIBLE as this one. I heard about this place from freinds and went there thrice only to have a bad experience every time. I kept on giving them a... More

Crazy place and Atmosphere!!! Very trendy, lots and lots of people however in a demonstration of how great their food is! I have to say this was my best Punjabi dishes from Pakistan. Lip smacking and absolutely outrageous food. You've got to get the LAMB!!! WOW!!!

We went on a Sunday evening, so no queue and got seated straight away. Sat down and got poppadoms, salad, etc while we checked out the menu. As we'd walked in we'd noticed big plates of sizzling meat go past, but couldn't work out which menu item this was- turned out it was a platter of several starters chucked together.... More

I had to queue for 15/20 minutes despite it was Tuesday. Once seated the plates took a little long to come, also the waiters aren't very attentive as the place is always busy as stated in the other reviews. However the food is really good and authentic and the restaurant seems to have become an institution in east London for... More

On the face of it a very cheap restaurant but the food was very good quality and we all ate well for under £20 a head almost unheard of in London and you can bring your own drink making it been better value.

I don't eat much indian food but this was brilliant! The menu isn't huge but it is obviously traditionally cooked and made to a really high standard. We each had prawns (me small, him king) shared some rice & garlic naan. We didn't realise until we got there that it's a dry restaurant but later found out that you can... More

I went with my colleagues for a lunch meal and it was really fantastic. Good food guide's cooking score of 2 helped us to choose this place over other places and in the end this turned out to be a good call. We started with standard starters, lamb chops, chicken tikka and masal poppadums. In the main course we ordered... More

Be prepared to wait a fair while here (even if you've booked). The service has always been quite slow whenever I've been here but the food is gorgeous. Not a huge choice which makes the selection a lot easier and the lamb chops are a must!
