Description: For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington...
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.

Good food

Visited this restaurant recently and overall it was a good meal. Waiting times were slightly longer than I would've wanted but that was because it was Ramadan. The waitress explained this and apologised. I'm going back next week - that's how good it was

Very yummy Malaysian food. The dish doesn't look big, so we ordered three four things. Turned out we are so full. We had lasak (noodle with soup), satay, coconut chicken rice. All very tasty. P.s. The place is not easy to find. Perhaps Google map isn't helpful enough. So, please spare some time on locating the restaurant if you don't... More

Being near the office and having some larger tables we sometimes come with a large group. The starters steal the show here, especially their famous incredibly fresh chicken wings. However, the mains tend to be a let down following such sublime starters. My noodles came in a soup that had less than complimentary flavours and freshness. A word of warning... More

Lots of vegetarian options available. The service was great. The person who took our orders took the time to explain the menu items. Even my kids loved the food so much that we ordered one of the items again!

I've been many times and tried a variety of items. Although I've only had Malaysian food in one other restaurant, I love the flavour of everything I've tried. It's always interesting to have some sides and pickles and such to compliment your main. Service I can't fault. Sitting upstairs and downstairs are very different experiences, with the downstairs more like... More

I have been going here regularly for many years. It has been a favourite. It used to be run by charming, competent ladies. Having had a business in Malaysia I loved their food. The cooking was good, the service quick, the prices reasonable, the place convenient to Paddington where my train comes in. I went in specially from Bristol to... More

Booked this restaurant for my husbands 40th for a party of around 20 people. Staff extremely helpful and very accommodating (especially with my ever changing number of guests!!) Catered for different dietary needs. Food and service fantastic. Thanks to the team at Satay House for making this occasion a special and memorable one!

The service was fantastic from start to end. At no point on a busy Friday night did we feel rushed. Our waitress Luisa(?) was amazing, incredibly attentive, helpful and served everything with a smile. The food itself was gorgeous, would highly recommend and will definitely return.

We found this place via google and unfortunately after a long day of sight seeing arrived there just at 10pm..later than what the staff would have liked. We were pleasantly surprised that there were a number of customers still eating. A good sign for a restaurant especially later in the evening :-) We waited for about 10 minutes for some... More
