Description: For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington...
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.

Tasty Malaysian Food

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Nothing was overpriced. This place was quite busy and we didn't have reservations, but they made room for us.

Felt as if I intruded because I didn't have a table booked even though only 1 table was occupied. After just left standing middle of the restaurant was allocated right next to some kinda storeroom or kitchen in the basement while boxes was taken in and out continues. Satay good but the most of the other dishes not what I... More

Visited this restaurant as close to where a number of friends were staying in London. Not difficult to find and one arrived, staff very pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent (three of us had lamb curry!) and we enjoyed our evening- nice atmosphere and relaxed for a mid week meal. Main portions were spot on and reasonable priced. Would visit... More

A small restaurant, split upstairs/ downstairs. Good clean seating area. Mainly couples, rather than larger groups. Standard menu well cooked and presented. I would like livelier peanut sauce with my satay but that was the only miss on dishes ordered. Do book.

I had been talking to a friend in Penang and had a yearning for Beef rendang, so I googled and found this place. You'd need to make an effort to go, it's hidden down a back street, and unless you were planning to be there I don't know how you'd find it. The rendang didn't disappoint, the Roti did -... More

The Satay house serves Malaysian food that really reminded me of my trip there! Staff was really friendly, although we had to wait quite a while to be served. But it was worth it!!! Food was very tasty and quantities were big enough. I strongly recommend to try the roti canai (plain or with eggs and onions).

This is a small restaurant serving a good authentic menu of Malaysian food with just a few compromises for the Western palate. Service is friendly. I went there for lunch with a friend ...we both enjoyed it, although on this particular day there were some rather inconsiderate business folk bellowing at each other (I have been before for dinner and... Came to this restaurant due to closure of Pak Awie restaurant. The place was too cramped and had to wait outside with my kid (on push chair) whilst my wife placed an order for take away. In general the foods are too hot and spicy and not as good as Bonda Cafe that we have tasted last year. On the... More
