Description: For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.

We were in Paddington on a Sunday, and we found a table without booking. Plenty of space on the ground floor and similar down below. Staff were really polite and friendly, service was reasonably quick. We ordered fried king prawns (6 fantastic, light and fluffy batter, not v oily) and fried chicken wings (6, a bit oily, tasty, not too... More

This place is located just 5 mins walk from where we stayed in Paddington. The place is open at 6 pm for dinner but we came half an hour earlier but the staff is so kind to let us in while they are preparing. You can find variety of authentic Malaysian food on the menu and taste like home. The... More

The service was great. Well, compared to other Malaysian restaurants, because let's face it Malaysians provide terrible services because of the inexistent high horse they put themselves on. I'm not being racist because I'm a Malay too, but due to our terrible experience with Tukdin and their horrible, discriminating, rude, hideously unethical waitress. The service was good and the waitress... More

We booked for New Years eve. The restaurant is on a nice quite location. We ate in the upstairs half, very small but really nice atmosphere. Food is just ok although having been to Malaysia twice now we have the benefit of the 'real' thing. Tahu Sumbat was very very tasty but came with what came across as a bottled... More

We chose this venue for client lunch mainly due to location and was blown away by the service and food! Menu selection was just the right combination especially as our guest was vegetarian. Everything freshly prepared and tasted beautiful! Highly recommend for any occasion and we will definately return

I had lunch with a friend at Satay House a couple of weeks ago. It’s a nice, cosy restaurant just off Edgware Road. The food is quite spicy and the portions are quite small. There are a number of vegetarian options although the waitress was not well versed as to what is excluded from this definition. I asked for the... More

Yet again - Satay house delivered a stunning meal. I just can't get enough of their food. So damn tasty. Such good value. Is definitely up there as one of my favourite spots in London!

Was excited to come on recommendation by a friend, however there are better ways to have good Malaysian food. This is certainly not the place to find it DIshes are not as tasty. The beef satay is good, but the chicken lacking. Murtabak a bit try, and doesn't come with gravy. Nasi Lemak pretty plain for what you pay for.... More

We visited on a Saturday night with a booking, having found this little restaurant through tripadvisor. We are glad we came here as the food was delicious. We had a tasting menu, which was just right for the two of us. Lots of variety and delicious food. Recommended.
