Description: For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington...
For more than 30 years, Satay House restaurant in Londons Paddington has been attracting lovers of Malaysian cuisine from all over the capital and across the globe. Satay House Malaysian restaurant was given a rejuvenating makeover in 2006 by the designers of Wagamama so it now sports cheerful orange feature walls with hibiscus flower stencils, sleek leather upholstery and pools of warm light. Despite the name, the food isnt just about meat on sticks, though Satay Houses satay is likely to be the best in the city. Certainly the restaurant is a home-away-from-home for ex-pat Malaysians and there are regular visits from the Malaysian royal family. Large portions of fiery sambal and traditional rending curries offer the perfect opportunity to eat Hidangan style, or sharing with the rest of your table as in traditional Malay culture. All food served at Satay House is certified Halal and the soft beverages include several intriguing Malay offerings.

We found this place via google and unfortunately after a long day of sight seeing arrived there just at 10pm..later than what the staff would have liked. We were pleasantly surprised that there were a number of customers still eating. A good sign for a restaurant especially later in the evening :-) We waited for about 10 minutes for some... More

We have been to this restaurant numerous times over the past years and it's the place to go for good Malaysian food especially for Malaysians who have been travelling for some time and in need of authentic Malaysian food and for Malaysian students who are away from home. If you can, make a booking but you should be fine if... More

Visited here for dinner, everything was fine - nice service, lovely decor, no complaints but food was just very average. Prawn crackers and dip were bog standard, starters were overpriced given portions and quality and mains were ok. I have not had much Malaysian food but have the feeling this didn't do it justice at all. So many better places... More

This place is popular so getting a booking can take awhile, but it is worth it. We ordered many of their vegetarian options, and we enjoyed them all.

This was our first time trying Malaysian food so we tried the taster menu, and what a good choice that was, 4 courses with plenty of things to try for £29. We both like Indian, Chinese and Indonesian food and were not disappointed, good food, good quality ingredients and not too expensive for London either.

My favorite restaurant in London, and some of the best Malaysian food I have ever tried. In the perhaps 40 times I have eaten there, I have always appreciated the same things: delicious food, a very diverse menu, actually great wines, friendly and professional service. And all of this at very affordable prices. Simply one of the best restaurants I... More

We walked in and apparently that is something you do at your peril. It became apparent that this place is frequented by a clique on kissing terms with those running the restaurant. It is only small and fills up very quickly. Anyhow, the waitress jiggled a few buttons on her hospitality booking machine and then seemed to make an executive... More
