Description: Welcome to Chettinad, the world of phenomenal South Indian cuisine. Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad. We are a no fuss, no frill, stylish, laid back diner, who just speaks of truly and honest South Indian food in the heart of Central London. We only know how to cook-up good home comfort authentic food freshly made to order with understated approach to service. No meal is complete without traditional Dosa, lentil pancake eaten any time during the day. Well! Certainly it isn't just another Curry House!!! "Ideal place to try something new if you are a South Indian food virgin" Back home in Chettinad, your dishes are served on a huge fresh banana leaf, a disposable platter. Contact with your food is direct and tactile as you eat with your right hand, mixing wet into dry ingredients - a messy business for the uninitiated. In Chettinad Restaurant here, we want you to experience authentic original flavours, therefore you would find some of our dishes served with fresh banana leaf. Today we appreciate and respect that you have entrusted your palate to us, we will take great loving care and take your taste buds on a journey where each mouthful sings a new magical ''WOW'' note. Enjoy your meal at Chettinad- The Village Restaurant, where "QUALITY MEETS TRADIITON"

Went with my wife and kids. This is the first time our kids try an India restaurant so we were a little worried how they would like it as some of the dished can be quite spicy. But no problem at all. Jay, one of the waiters, guided us to the perfect dinner. We mixed various from the menu so... More

The best south Indian food I ever had in London, good choice of menu, friendly service by Ranjith who took care of our table and tend to our needs. Very satisfied with the restaurant and sure to be there more often.

Love this place. Discovered it by accident earlier in the year and was pleasantly surprised. Been back twice since and the surprises continue. Almost worth it just for the mixed platter starter (lamb, chicken, prawns and fish) which is remarkable. Extremely pleasant staff (thanks Ranjit) and good atmosphere. Good value too for the quality of food. Highly recommended.

We found this restaurant by accident - looking for somewhere to eat when it started to pour with rain. It is a gem, and we will certainly return. The South Indian food was delicious, the atmosphere very friendly and relaxing and the service very efficient. Jay, who looked after us and supervised the service, did a great job. Strongly recommended!

Yesterday after doing whole day shopping in London, we 3 friends were really very tired and didn't realized that it was 9.30pm. Than we decided to have dinner at nearby place (Totten ham road). We spotted one vegetarian restaurant so decided to go there, but fortunately they told us that kitchen was closed and cannot help us. We decided to... More

Good authentic Indian food in comfortable surroundings. Pleasant and attentive waitress (Ranjit) who assisted with good recommendations and suggestions. Ok sized portions (not huge portions).

I love Indian food and Southern Indian cuisine is an interesting slant on it. We all had DosaS to start with, delicious. We then had various curries. My lamb one was hot at my rquest and unlike any other curry I have had in taste. Quite beautiful in fact and has spoiled me for the future. All the other dishes... More
