Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

Notas good as last time

The first time we visited Barrafina we said that it was on of the best reastaurants that we had been to in the past year and reviewed it as such on TA. Hence to say the next time we visted London we made it a must for dinner. However i'm sad to say that we didn't enjoy the food anywhere... read more

We showed up at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, and as expected there was a queue, of around 14 people at the time. We were given a friendly welcome, told about the approximate waiting time (1 hour at the time) and offered drinks and appetisers. With regards to the queue, it goes around the edge of the restaurant. The first... More

Great service- always friendly. Be prepared to wait- no reservations- line moves quickly but is about 45 minutes if at the door. Polpo is a must.

I dislike to be negative and unnecessarily negative. We are food lover and have done my fair share of tasting tapas in various parts of Spain with our Spanish friends. None of the dishes we ordered tasted remotely good! Whilst waiting: Pimentos were underdone, salt cod cubes were cushions of oil, aioli was too vinegari. After being seated: Jamón and... More

Regardless of the time, you will inevitably have to queue to get a seat at Barrafina but it is well worth being patient. This tiny seafood based tapas restaurant only has seats at the bar/counter so it's a bit like sitting at the chefs table. I'd recommend the scallops cerviche as well as the giant prawns and the squid. The... More

Just returned from an amazing lunch at Barrafina. The food was beautifully executed and presented. Razor clams, black pudding with quail eggs and milk fed lamb were all delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough, you will not be disappointed.

i have been going to barrafina since it opened and can say that its never been less than superb. do expect to wait and then to acknowledge that the wait was worth it for a daily changing menu of seasonal inspired tapas. i would focus on the specials particularly the seafood but roast suckling pig of slow cooked cheek are... Best restaurant in london in my view. Food is great but so is service and atmosphere. It's what other london restaurants should aspire to be.

One of the must go to places for any foodie visiting London. You cannot book so either go early evening or be prepared to stand in line ( with a wine to help pass the time ) . Well worth the wait and staff all knowledgeable about what they are serving. And friendly too despite the fast paced service, but... More

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
