Ranked #60 of 17,145 Restaurants in London
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Price range: $72 - $72
Cuisines: Spanish
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Late Night
Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

I tried to eat here a few times but it is always so busy that I ended up leaving. Finally had meal here on my birthday. Arrived at 12:15 and had to wait 1h30 to get a seat. That said the food is unbelievable! Super fresh premium seafood, small but good wine list, superb tapas. I've tried many good tapas... More

Travelled all the way into town only to find the place closed and under renovation. Nothing about this was mentioned on the website. A complete disgrace and waste of my time.

Love this place! Food amazing & the staff are super efficient. The long Que to get in says it all. At the bar you get to mingle with new faces and exchange stories over drinks and amazing tapas. Get there early to avoid disappointment

Meeting up with an old London based Kiwi friend for a drink in Soho he rated Barrafina highly. Happily no wait for us at two o'clock. Fabulous staff organised two tables side by side for the three of us. A bottle of wine and mineral water are speedily delivered with charm by our wonderful waiter. Menus and a quirky little... More

After queueing for about half an hour, we managed to secure some of the prime real estate of a table smack outside the front door. The food really is good hear and the wine or sherry, well worth the sore head in the morning! On our last visit the waiter managed to drop something in our carafe of wine just... More

If you are craving for a selection of good Spanish Tapas Barrafina is the place to go. This cozy tapas bar at the heart of London at Soho is mouth watering. Even during the weekdays expect to wait an hour in the queue but don't give it up. It will be worth to wait while enjoying your glass of wine... More

Finally managed to get in. Have read other peoples reviews and wanted to try however never had the time to queue!!! This time only had to wait 30 mins....so with a bottle of wine it was an easy choice! It is well worth the wait. Very bright busy buzzy atmosphere. Only seats about 20-25 at one long bar but really... More

We might spend hours describing what an amazing food you can get at Barrafina. But the truth is this is simply the best tapas place in London.

Barrafina in Frith Street is a very small establishment and does not take reservations. Going there generally involves waiting for one of the few spots at the counter where food is prepared and served, but you can get small snacks and drinks whilst you wait. On the few nights I've been the average wait has been around 90 minutes but... More
