Ranked #20 of 16,489 restaurants in London
Certificate of Excellence 2013
Price range: $72 - $72
Cuisines: Spanish
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Late Night
Description: Barrafina is an authentic Spanish tapas bar located in London's Soho. It serves a traditional but contemporary, regional a la carte menu and there is a daily blackboard of specials, created by Executive Head Chef, Barragan Mohacho. Barrafina operates a first come first serve queuing system, and does not take reservations for their 23 stools. However, part of the fun of dining there is eating little bites and sipping on something delicious while making the line. The kitchen is open and guests are close to all the action and drama while their food is prepared.

Went to Barrafina last week and we had a good time, the bad thing is you have to wait too much to get a table(well not table but Bar) but after that the food is really authentic and the atmosphere is quite nice, we had a great time drinking good Spanish wine and having very tasty tapas. I recommend it... More

Great authentic experience and never mind waiting for a table as I know the good will be worth the wait. Not great for groups of any greater number than 2 due to layout configuration.

On a visit to London for a special occasion, I planned a visit to this highly regarded establishment. We arrived before midday to find a que already outside, this place (reluctant to call it a restaurant due to it having no tables or waiters) is small and only has 26 stools at the bar. We were welcomed by friendly staff... More

This is the newer sister restaurant to Fino, the difference in layout being that dining is on a bar stool only, facing the cooking area. Also there are no reservations and queues can be long. Food is absolutely top notch, particularly the hot dishes, and is at least as good as those in Fino, the sister restaurant. Both the quality... More

This is the best tapas bar I have enjoyed outside of Spain. The atmosphere is excellent and like in Spain everybody sits around the bar. Everything is there to make it an authentic tapas bar, from the little one-time-use napkins to throw on the floor to the hooks under the bar to hang the ladies purse. The food is excellent... More

This place has excellent food and great atmosphere, only downside you have to stand in a queue for a while, maybe 1 hour and longer to get the sit, but its totally worth it.

This is the best tapas bar in London by far. Great food and even better service. Get there early to avoid the queues. We ate as a four at the bar and were lucky to get seats straight away at 17:00. The food was simply fantastic.

I had heard that Barrafina was a great place to eat and I was not disappointed. We arrived at 4.45pm on Saturday and joined the queue (Barrafina opens at 5.00) We were not close enough to the front of the queue to get a place at the bar when the doors opened so we opted for one of the tables... Great tapas and wine and a good atmosphere. If you haven't been, be prepared to arrive at opening time or you will have to queue. We tried a lot of dishes (9 or 10) and everything, without exception was excellent. Tried the Txacoli, Albariño and house Rioja and all were very good. Service was friendly, but a little disorganised. Would... More

We've been here several times before and always look forward to returning when in London. Simply the quality of the food, choice and service is excellent, it really is a favourite of mine. Yes, you have to queue but believe me it is worth waiting and would recommend sampling some of the excellent wines on offer whilst waiting. The specials... More
