Pretty good Italian food for London

Had lunch here with a colleague on my last trip to London. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering I didn't finish my fettuccine Alfredo and ended up taking some of it back to the flat. Liked the nice homey feel to the restaurant and the waiter was attentive.

The service was good, the waitress took my order and brought my drink and meal reasonably quick. The steak was a nice size, cooked ok, the portions of potatoes and vegetables were very small in comparison to the steak. While I was eating I could hear the girls on the table starting to panic that they did not have enough... More

This restaurant proved to have a very elegant and romantic ambiance, excellent choice of wines, authentic Italian food and even live piano music – all that enabled myself and my lady friend to enjoy each other’s company and have a great time. We both feel grateful to the management of this charming place, and decided to express our gratitude in... More

The staff really make this place - from the servers to the bartender to the pianist everyone seemed happy to be here and they really make you feel like family invited to a party that they host every night. The decor is a bit homely with tile floors, banquet chairs and amateurish paintings adorning the walls. The restaurant specializes in... More

Although, when we were looking for an Italian Restaurant, the outside did not look so inviting, due to no cloths on some metal outside tables. How pleased we were that we went inside. It appeared very good and with an excellent menu including a large selection of fish dishes. I chose Halibut, which was beautifully prepared. We both had started... More

As a regular fish eater I am very attentive how it is prepared and served, and now I discovered that Trattoria Verdi on Southampton Row does lovely fish with garnish. My partner chose a seafood dish and was also delighted with its freshness and presentation. A top notch fish and seafood meal in central London! The ambiance and the service... More

My granddaughter and I ate hear during our recent stay in London. Although our food was good I was disappointed that a further £3.75 had been added to our bill of less than £22. I took this to be the service charge as at the foot of the bill was a comment "service charge included" but when presented with the... More

I visited this resataurant for dinner with colleagues this week as I was in London overnight. Walking through the door feels like taking a step back to the eighties... guy playing the piano, the decor, the hand written specials menu in a plasic sleeve and so on. The place was lively and the staff friendly. One does however go to... More

Trattoria Verdi was perfect for a girl’s night out. We sat close to the piano player near the back. Very cosy. We all chose the select house wine, and then dove into their pastas, pizzas and mains. I had fish cooked to perfection. The five of us agreed it was like eating at home without lifting a finger - Bliss
