A lingering business lunch

This started at 1pm and ended at 6:30pm. A group of us meet monthly in different venues to discuss matters of common professional interest over an extended lunch. Ten of us sat down for a meal which arrived at well-spaced intervals. Most opted for the tapas: I took the suckling pig from the a la... read more

Visited on Saturday evening with the beautiful and talented Mrs D for an anniversary celebration. We had been there several times before and thoroughly enjoyed it having had the set menu - good value. However, the evening got off to a so-so start for a celebration dinner having been seated next to a table where the gent was wearing a... More

Went there 10 years ago and decided to try again, thought it was amazing still. The food was fresh and tasty and the place is as busy as it was Thought the cost of the meal for 2 was reasonably priced We will go again and not wait as long next time

Often eat here on my lunch break and they do a good express menu during the day, i have been here a couple of times in the evening as well and the atmosphere is great. It is always busy in here and the food is consistent. Not the most refined tapas you will have or or the best but its... More

The service, unfortunately, is rushed unlike traditional Spanish Tapas which lasts for hours. Our dishes came all at once and we were done within an hour. Excellent food and great fun sharing with a group. Food is very authentic and the wines are very good too. Just wish they gave more chance to enjoy the whole experience

I use this restaurant four or five times a year. Eternally reliable....good staff who want to help and food that is always reliable. Last night I wanted to be in and out in half an hour - which may be hasty, but it was what I needed to do. Well done El Pirata - great food, great service. Thank you

A very short walk from The Hilton, Park Lane, despite recent fairly regular visits to Spain, this was our first Tapas. On entering we were quickly seated and provided our drinks. Due to our lack of experience, we ordered a set menu. The dishes were brought to the table gradually and at no time were we rushed. Had a great... More

You could never go wrong at this place. We had their prix fixe menu and everything in the list works. They accommodated for my food allergies and everything was mouth watering. We sat at the bar got to know the bar tender too.

We went to El Pirata with a group of friends for dinner and drinks. It's in a good location, not too far from green park underground station. We'd booked the table in advance so we were pleasantly surprised when we were shown to a private grotto for 6, it did get a bit warm in there though. We felt a... More

This is an excellent restaurant with a good ambience and lighting, a nice big bar, and plenty of room between the tables. The tapas menu is wide and varied and should have something for everyone. There is a good and reasonably priced (for Mayfair) wine list. The restaurant is well located for Green Park and Hyde Park Corner tube stations.... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
