Good Tapas restaurant in Mayfair

Every time I am in London I go at least once to have dinner at El Pirata in Mayfair. I love the food and the setting especially downstairs is terrific. The tapas menu is extensive and authentic.

Superb service, good food, a wide variety of dishes for all ranges of dietary preferences. Value for money and a great atmosphere, a classic old fashioned tapas bar

With so many great tapas options in London -- José, Barrafina, Morito, Salt Yard, etc. -- there's really no reason to choose El Pirata. The tapas were fine, but bland and uninteresting. As with most Mayfair joints, overpriced to boot. There are just too many clearly superior options.

Have been to this restaurant many times and always excellent we chose a few favourite dishes and let Them do the rest, love sitting upstairs as the atmosphere great if only the 2 of us we sometimes sit at the bar where it all happens. Fair price wines and sherry for Mayfair. Looking forward to our visit this Friday Lunch

Just love this place. I came with my husband on Saturday, second time this year just love it. Great buzzy atmosphere, excellent friedly service, delicious varied tapas, wonderful wine, not took far from Green Park underground. What more would you want.

The food here is traditional and it's really tasty. The staff are also friendly and willing to help. We didn't have a booking but they were very accommodating and gave us a seat at the bar. It's also reasonably priced for Mayfair. I would definitely recommend.

Very welcoming reception and willingness to please. Varied and delicious authentic Spanish tapas, served swiftly (but not too) with a smile and professional engagement of the staff. Great recommendation of a reasonably priced Rioja, good Muga Rosé and Life was good as se basket in thé midnight afternoon sunshine. Just like being in Spain. Go after 3.00 p.m. (like the... More

Spent a great evening here with a friend. The room was still busy a weeknight at 10. The booking was at 10pm so i had checked beforehand if they still served food. The food came quickly and it was delicious but we felt rushed by our waitress who came to ask if we had ordered 3 times and also tried... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
