The Indian YMCA is primarily a student hostel in Charlotte Street on the South East corner of Fitzroy Square - head for the BT tower and you will get there. It has a canteen for the students - mostly from the Indian subcontinent - and its also open to the public. I have only been there in the evenings when... More

This is a cracking little spot for lunch, no frills and good value curries. It also has a nice outside seating area for the summer. The curries are very flavoursome and have the right level of spice. The bhajis are a touch on the greasy side but at the prices, you can't complain.

Whilst this place may not be brimming with atmosphere (Think cheap hotel dining room or works canteen) it redeems itself by serving delicious curry at a very reasonable price. The staff are extremely friendly and the place is very clean. The choice of food, as mentioned in other reviews, isn't extensive but what they do, they do well. I wouldn't... More

Want a simple, delicious, home cooked curry? This is the place to go. Whilst the menu is basic, one meat curry (fish on a Thursday), one vegetable curry, rice, naan, salad, fruit and as much tea and coffee as you like, it was the best curry I have had in a long time. A hidden gem in Central London. All... More

I used to work nearby and love going to the Indian YMCA for lunch. The food is simple but very tasty, the staff are really friendly. Best Indian lunch in London!

In the heart of Fitzrovia, but I suspect that most people working nearby or visiting the area don't know it exists, and even walking past the front of the building you would not know there was a canteen restaurant inside that was open to the public. It is nothing fancy, a canteen style restaurant, but as others have mentioned, it... More

Went here with my partner on Saturday night having read about it in TimeOut as a good cheap eat in C.London. You go in, buy a ticket for £7 and then help yourself to the buffet. We had a very nice chicken tikka, a yogurt based curry with onion bhaji, chapatis, pilau rice and a very nice lentil dahl. All... More

Self-service canteen. A real treat; fairly fresh (especially the vegetables) food, freshly cooked & served with a smile at a more than reasonable price. My feast cost less then £10. If they only had organic flour chapatis & organic rice, I would be in heaven. Clean as well.

Its a canteen, but must be doing something right judging by the clientele. Everyone will feel comfortable here. I live nearby, and but for my Indian friends who were visiting, this gem would have remained a secret buried in the lovely Fitzrovia precinct.

Had authentic Indian food after a long time, excellent taste and good quality food and that too at a very cheaper rate, Initially only meant for students, now open to general public. Tried their Fish Curry, Lamb curry excellent. best part is we select what you want from the counter. Can have all the items or can take only Curry... More
