Description: Neighbour to The Photographers Gallery on the cusp of Covent Garden and Soho, Salvador and Amanda is the latest blissed-out bar from the reliably funky Breakfast Group. Calling itself as a Bar Y Tapas Y Fiesta (that's snacks and Balearic beats until the toddler hours to you and me), it offers a distinctive rustic, 'Real Spain' inspired interior by Paul Daly of Elbow Rooms and Lab fame. Naturally, it's packed to the sombreros with young professionals, but it isn't at all pretentious - a glance at the large bull-fight posters tell you that. In keeping with the general feel, classic Spanish tapas such as mini de pepito concebolla (steak and onion in toasted roll) form the backbone of the menu. But read on - the descriptions tell your tastebuds all they need to know: clams in sherry with ham, spider crab tortilla, paella croquettes...Should you find out who Salvador and Amanda are, do let us know. We think they must be a pretty cool pair.

The decor is nice and cozy especially in the booth, the food was delicious I enjoyed the payella, the atmosphere was great, the service was excellent , the food was served on time, and the waiters were very freindly. The wine and cocktails tasted very good. We were a group of 30 people we all had great time, we enjoyed... More

Best restaurant? Absolutely not. Great food? Definate no. Good atmosphere? Oh yes and happy hour was indeed happy. Lovely cocktails. Saw this on an Amazon local deal. Something different. Wednesday eve. Olives and bread, glass of cava, six tapas to share and a desert. £18.00 each and that included an excellent guitarist and a flamenco dancer. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip... More

Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Our waitress didn't manage a smile but other staff were more cheerful. It'd be better to go as a group so as to be in a booth; I went with a friend and we were in the cheap seats by the service area which felt a bit sidelined. Our dishes were brought out in... More

From the front door to our table, to the food being served and the atmosphere and decor as really great experience at Salvador and Amanda. Just seconds from the tube, not always a good thing in Leicester Sq, we we're welcomed and show to our table. A great, original and quirky looking restaurants, which was already busy for a Thursday... More

I came across Salvador and Amanda whilst waiting to go to the theatre to watch Ghost Stories a few doors down. The atmosphere was really good along with the décor and the staff. We went for the £12.50 per head tapas option with a starter of mixed olives, breads, cheese and Parma ham. This was a nice starter and presented... More

I was recommended to the restaurant whilst visiting with my two 20+ yr old sons by the concierge in our hotel. It was absolutely wonderful! Lots of atmosphere, beautifully served fantastic food and excellent service. Went to Nobu in Mayfair the next night and Salvador and Amanda leave them for dust apart from the snob value of it being in... More

This is my worst restaurant experience ever! I wouldn't usually go to a busy bar to eat but a friend and I wanted to try somewhere new and more lively than usual and I spend part of my year in Spain and Spanish food is my favourite. I had actually booked for the new Holborn branch as it looked pretty... More

We visited early evening, Thursday. Restaurant rapidly filled up to provide lively atmosphere. Friendly service was prompt and efficient. Our selection of tapas was very tasty, some could have been a bit hotter (temperature). The Sangria was disappointing..... it contained canned not fresh fruit and the fruit juice was too overpowering, low alcohol content. We used a discount card which... More

Visited Salvador and Amanda's on a Wednesday night at 6:00pm. First impressions were good - the front of house is lit with moody red and maroon lighting and a staircase takes you down into the restaurant itself which is equally carefully lit and decorated to create an intimate atmosphere. We noticed a small stage set up near the centre of... More

I went here with my hubby on a Wednesday night. I believe the atmosphere is warm and romantic. It was very busy but waiting staff was working hard. The Anchovies bead was amazing, Salty Anchovies, crisp and oily bread at the same time. Nice fresh salad, calamari and Prawns were very nice. Also the bottle of house Rose was very... More
