Description: Neighbour to The Photographers Gallery on the cusp of Covent Garden and Soho, Salvador and Amanda is the latest blissed-out bar from the reliably funky Breakfast Group. Calling itself as a Bar Y Tapas Y Fiesta (that's snacks and Balearic beats until the toddler hours to you and me), it offers a distinctive rustic, 'Real Spain' inspired interior by Paul Daly of Elbow Rooms and Lab fame. Naturally, it's packed to the sombreros with young professionals, but it isn't at all pretentious - a glance at the large bull-fight posters tell you that. In keeping with the general feel, classic Spanish tapas such as mini de pepito concebolla (steak and onion in toasted roll) form the backbone of the menu. But read on - the descriptions tell your tastebuds all they need to know: clams in sherry with ham, spider crab tortilla, paella croquettes...Should you find out who Salvador and Amanda are, do let us know. We think they must be a pretty cool pair.

Having recently enjoyed really great tapas places in Asheville, NC (see , eg, Zambras and Curate), my wife and I thought this little place in the West End sounded like the best of limited choices offered with our theatre tickets. I should have realized that the set menu for the pre-theatre deal would preclude a true tapas menu. With very... More

Nice food, has a nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced, myself and my Mum had a two course meal which comprised of Tortilla for starters and Chicken breast with sherry sauce with mash potato and salad with dressing, it was very nice. Happy hour when we arrived at 5pm we paid £10 for four bottles of Sol in a bucket of... More

We were walking around leicester square while looking for a nice place to go and got intrigued by the entrance to "salvatore and amanda". Once we entered the place, we immediately felt transported. We had some delicious tapas and their wine list was also very good. I especially loved the atmosphere of the place. It was cost, intimate, animated. At... More

I went there with two friends before the theatre and had a lovely time! Ordered the sangria as it was happy hour and it was lovely! We ordered 9 tapas between us and they were all delicious! I would recommend the prawns, calamari, ribs and the ham and cheese croquettes, I heard the lamb was really good too! Salvador and... More

We walked passed this place and were taken in by their interesting interior. I came to regret it later however. The menu was confusing, the prices of the food were typical London prices however, the food just did not reflect the price. They gave us the wrong drinks. I ordered the goats cheese and spinach pie and it looked like... More

I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday through recommendations I'd seen on the web. However sadly I was overall pretty disappointed by the whole place. I had to book an early table due to going to the theatre the same evening, this meant that the restaurant had just opened and we were the first people to arrive. No fault... More

Staff very freindly and welcoming. We were greeted with a glass of cava which was nice. Then the set menu started to arrive, which were all very nice. The coctails and wines were well priced during the long 'Happy Hour' which was good news. All in all a very nice restaurant with the added bonus of live music with flemenco... More

Came with friends on a weekend. I'd been before a few years ago but hadn't been that impressed. However, my second time here was much better. We had a selection of tapas, all of which was delicious. Good wine, good atmosphere and good music. Great to stay on and have a drink and a dance.
