Having been a chocoholic for the last 60 odd years, it would take a mighty good sweet to class it as the most memorable chocolate cake ever. But the chocolate fondant cake was to die for! The salads are inventive and beautifully dressed. The mains are equally inventive and well presented. KEY TIP- don't be put off by the appearance... More

Came across the restaurant by accident due to getting at the wrong tube station. How glad we were! Everything, just everything was just perfect from the greeting, speed of being given personal attention to the food. Never tasted such tasty food in a long time. Will definitely get off at the same tube station next time to visit this delightful... More

Every year we schedule our visit to the Almeida Theatre in coordination to a visit to Ottolenghi's flasghip restaurant. Try the orange wines (look it up if you don't know the concept). On this visit, the venison kibbe was the best meat dish, and the eggplant was the best veg to our taste.

This eponymous restaurant lived up to the recipes in the book. Have not visited his other London restaurants (which I understand are more formal), but this one was great. Food displayed in the front window, as are bottled products elsewhere in the premises to buy and take home, lend a homey quality. Don't expect secluded separate little tables in candlelight,... Service was swift and friendly, the wine list excellent - I recommend the Barbera, delicious. The food is served tapas style and was delicious, who knew there were so many varieties of beetroot - really great, fresh and interesting food.

Enjoy some beautiful culinary delights at this wonderful Upper Street restaurant.Competition has intensified in Angel, so here are no old wins. The staff remains surprisingly accommodating.Tables are mostly communal but there are a few tables for two. Presentation of the dishes are Otto's biggest tribute.Do not forget something sweet with your coffee.

We visited this restaurant while on holiday from Australia, going out of our way to have lunch. A delicious meal served quickly and efficiently. Really liked how you could view everything before ordering. We had teenage boys who tasted with their eyes but enjoyed with their tastebuds. Not a fan of the communal seating arrangements but the food was the... More

I cannot stress how much I love the food at Ottolenghi. The salads are always fresh and combine spices and flavours that I rarely come across anywhere else. The deal at lunch is great value - choose from a main dish and 3 salads for about £17. I went there just before Christmas and had beef, which was just the... More

Went to Ottolenghi's in Islington with two guys I used to work with. I had been to NOPI on Warwick Street and was impressed with the food and service, so expected something similar on Upper Street. Let me begin by saying, the salad selection (you can have three or four samples on one plate) was probably the best salad(s) I've... More
