Relaxing breakfast

Fantastic atmosphere and iconic restaurant in Central London. Breakfast was really good but perhaps the waiting staff could have been more attentive throughout. Service was slow and difficult to get coffee fill ups.

We met friends for dinner and the restaurant has a great ambiance and environment. Unfortunately because the building is so good they don't need to try on other aspects. The food isn't a cheap or exciting experience. We skipped starters and had two steaks, one lamb and one chicken, three desserts and two bottles of wine, which came to over... More

We chose The Wholseley to celebrate my dad's birthday and it was spot on: great food with amazing service. Glad to see there are still places in London where you can get a delicious meal served by very nice, well trained staff. Knowing that it was my dad's birthday, they even packed an assortment of pastries as a gift. Looking... More

The beautiful wolsely has a gluten free menu! its fabulous! the service is very nice, you should make a reservation ahead of time and specify that you are a celiac. the interior of this restaurant is marvelous, it used to be a car dealership and is stunning to think about how extravagant it would've looked filled with old automobiles the... The Wolseley is a perfect experience for tourist visiting London for an authentic experience. This converted 1920s car dealer showroom offer a sense of grandeur while still being accessible to out of towners without making you feel out of place. The world is full of tourist traps, this isn't one of them

The building and dining room at The Wolseley is beautiful. We had a table for 4 at the back of the restaurant which was up a flight of stairs. This made the dining experience very private as only one other table located here. It also gave an excellent vantage point to look down over the dining room. The food is... More

We've been to The Wolseley a few times over the last 3 years and we've always enjoyed it, but on our last visit service was really a mess. Everyone has an off night but this one was hard to understand because they seemed to have a sufficient number of staff. They just weren't working well together. It was all made... More

I went here for a nice afternoon tea. It was so nice! Exactly what I wanted for my trip to London. I would go back and with friends. Nice ambiance and very trendy. It had cool black and white checkered floors and an upscale business type crowd.

Rather a disappointment that the wonderful Wolsey has been overtaken by diners attending who are more interested in taking constant selfies and hair grooming at the table. As the tables are so close together we found this really distracted from our enjoyment our dinner visit. I strongly recommend a no cameras/ mobile phones at the table policy. This is not... More

Very good food. Very good atmosphere and decor. Very helpful staff. When I was attempting to wrap up some leftover sandwiches in a paper napkin, a waiter insisted on taking the sandwiches away and came back with them in a Wolseley box. I carried these home on the tube to my very grateful and greedy dog!

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
