My friends and family love this place so much that they insist on coming back again and again. I’m not quite so convinced as they are. Certainly the standards are high. The food is consistent and reliable. And the service professional. But the cooking is not really that complex (steak and chips etc etc) and the prices are sky high.... More

The Wolseley is a landmark restaurant on the London scene set in what used to be a car showroom (for Wolseleys--a make unknown to most Americans or other non-Brits). It's an exciting and dramatic space that has long attracted London's A-list. We hadn't been for some time and were disappointed by the quality of the food. If you are a... More

We eat at the Wolseley every time we visit London & this time we visited with visiting Canadian relatives who were blown away with the food & the atmosphere. A meal of delicious prawns, schnitzels, sea bream, Black Forest gateau & creme brûlée was just the best & so was the service! Our waiter was a scream & helped make... More

Arrived on a busy Saturday lunchtime without a reservation on the off chance of a table for a quick lunch. Seated almost immediately. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Great table near to the front desk, which made for interesting view of the entire restaurant. Order a Bloody Mary and then the chopped chicken with tarragon, delicious! Finished with a caffe... More

Breakfast at The Wolseley must be one of most comfortingly civilised things to do on a lazy weekend. Make sure you book in advance and then enjoy the continental atmosphere in this grand old room. Full of Chinoiserie and brass fittings it feels like its been here for ever - an institution much like its next door neighbour The Ritz... More

The restaurant is set in a beautiful location but other than that, the food was okay - London priced and nothing extraordinary: I ordered a steak tartare for my main which wasn't seasoned; you should always be asked during the ordering process if you would like it to be spicy/mild but I wasn't so expected to be given some ingredients... We went to the Wolseley with a friend who frequents the place. Beautiful surroundings to be sure. The food however is kind of average if I'm being honest. I had the Sunday roast which was fine but not particularly memorable. The price seemed quite steep as well especially when I take into account that I have had sublime Sunday roasts... More

We dined here again on our annual visit from New Zealand. This is one of London's most fashionable restaurants and reservations are advised well in advance. The staff, the food, the atmosphere and the Art Deco building all add to a truly exceptional experience.
