Anyone seen Hercule Poirot?

I mainly come to this place for the decor and sense of history: you'd expect Hercule Poirot to walk in the door at any point, cane in hand, asking for his favourite table. Breakfast and afternoon tea are pretty good (what you'd expect from a nice hotel really - no surprises or quirks) - and... read more

Whenever we visit London this is our first stop for dinner Every time we have visited the food has been excellent and we really enjoy the eclectic mix of menu options. Its not "fine dining" but the cooking and presentation are extremly impressive with more than adequate portions The dining room is unique and beautifully nostalgic with lovely high ceilings... More

I have been to the Wolosley a few times and it is always a great place. It is situated right across from the Ritz Hotel, my old back yard! The food and ambience is always super. The staff go out of their way for you. Visit- it is a must!

We had a fantastic dinner at the Wolseley. Great space and atmosphere, friendly professional service and excellent food. A highlight of our two week stay in London (eating out every night). a memorable night and highly recommended.

How do they manage it at The Wolseley? The staff are so pleasant and manage that difficult thing of being attentive without being intrusive quite brilliantly. I was there with family and friends for a light lunch (salad nicoise -very good) and the food was excellent - so happy were we that we indulged in desserts which we hadn't intended... More

We have been coming here for several years. The location suits us. We feel it is losing its sparkle and this is down to the waiters I feel. They are rather surly and unfriendly. Sometimes I make a request and they don't even verbally acknowledge me. Do they lack language skills? I would like to see a return to a... More

After an evening at the restaurant and while speaking to staff about the property, they touted the place as having the best breakfast in London. We already had plans to have breakfast for my last day in the city, but changed plans and reserved at The Wolseley. Seated in a great banquette just inside the door with terrific views we... More

A wonderful building steeped in heritage and tradition, situated near New Bond Street and the Burlington Arcade, which provides a perfect pit-stop whilst shopping. A very busy restaurant but the service was very good. It's a quality establishment made special by traditional touches - the way the tea is served conjures up a feeling of a bygone era, the cappuccino... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
