Afternoon Tea

I took my niece and daughter for afternoon tea, and we were all happy with our food. My daughter loved the little finger sandwiches. The cakes were fresh and delicious. Of course the best part were the scones...yummmmm.... The room was lovely and the waitstaff very attentive. Lovely afternoon tea... read more

Lovely fresh oysters to start, fish, beef and veal mains were all great as were the sides, and deserts - expensive but worth it once in a while

I booked breakfast at The Wolseley for my husband's birthday. When I called up, I was told that we could have a 7.30am table as long as we were out by 8.30am - seemed a little unfriendly but I understand they have a busy breakfast service. We arrived and were greeted by a welcoming member of staff and were shown... More

I planned to pay a visit to The Wolseley before I had arrived in London. This decision was influenced by thier website and the comments from TripAdvisor. However, I am glad I chose to had breakfast there! I didn't make a booking, so I just entered there from the street. In the very first moment when I opened the door,... More

Dear Robert I'm so pleased you chose to drop in on The Wolseley on your trip to London and had a good time. You probably didn't know we always hold tables back for ‘walk-ins’ so please pop in again, for lunch or dinner perhaps, when you are next in London! Best wishes Ben Matthews General Manager More

I regret having to say our Afternoon Tea at The Wolsey was seriously lacking. It began with our lady server being quite unfriendly. After taking our order we remarked to each other how we both thought, "she didn't like us". We don't need our server to like us, but we would appreciate our server not behaving curtly. My fellow diner... More

Dear lilyroses I am sorry you did not call back as I really would have liked to find out what happened on the day you came in to ensure it does not happen again. Again, please accept my apologies for what was obviously a disappointing experience for you. Best wishes Ben Matthews General Manager More

Having booked for hubby's birthday we were given a lovely table , and treated so nicely. The food was divine and we will be going back. Staff attention was spot on, very helpful and guided us to best choice, and the décor is perfect French brassiere. Thank you it was delightful .

Lovely environment - on this occasion had the kedgeree and my husband had the Eggs Benedict. The Wolseley is well located and very close to all the major amenities that we wanted to visit in London.

The food at the Wolseley is great - plentiful and cooked the English way! The service is excellent and the atmosphere lively and enjoyable. I particularly liked the steak I had which was cooked to perfection. Go there for lunch or dinner and also for afternoon tea - although the latter is very expensive for what you get and cannot... Love the venue and have enjoyed in the past. The service is great, although being plonked near the door having booked in advance was a bit cheeky, although rectified fast. Food could be a bit better in my view. My burger was fairly non-descript, and the fish soup was expensive for what it was. Best for a big steak when... More

Staying in St. James's

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
