Description: Situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, perfect for visitors to Southbank, Skylon combines retro style with unbeatable views of the London skyline from triple-height picture windows to create a stunning dining complex. Situated by the central cocktail bar, the informal Skylon Grill restaurant offers light a la carte meals in a casual ambience. Executive Chef, Adam Gray describes his food as modern British – simple, honest and with a sometimes unusual twist on classic dishes. Renowned for its extensive wine list, the Skylon Bar also stands out for its quality cocktails and stunning view of the Southbank. A destination in its own right, Skylon Bar alone attracts many culture vultures who share the company of magazine editors and members of Parliament.

Recently went for Sunday lunch. Great table with views over The Thames. Music cool but on a short loop so got very samey. Roast beef good but at £20 I expected better presentation. Service good although felt rushed at the end ( obviously wanted to re-use the table) which made the advertised relaxed Sunday not so relaxed. But will return... More

Beautiful place- only went there for pre concert Champagne -however, it cost a fortune, as tee total members were charged £ 4.50 for a small orange juice. Service very difficult for staff as there is so little space around the bar, and we were moved very couple of minutes by waiters, there was nowhere else to stand !!

Living in London, my family from France came over for the week end. As I have already been in Skylon last Christmas and really enjoyed everything, I wanted to bring them there for a nice meal. We were allocated at a window table. Even if it was really busy we have been looked after by a very nice waiter from... More

Surprise Birthday celebration for my sister as part of our weekend trip to London, we ate from the festival menu we had three courses and each was delicious. The service, and atmosphere was really good, and very reasonably priced. The Festival Hall building is quite grey and bland looking, but the skylon is open and stylish, we had a window... More

Had the London restaurant festival deal at the restaurant last week. Great food, wine and value for money on the deal. One of my favourite restaurants.

Lovely restaurant but a strange attachment within a 'community centre building' Food was pretty good but not sure I would go there again.

Service terrible. Took food order before drinks order. Waitress poured water carelessly into glasses, spilling a load on the table, however failed to acknowledge or wipe up. Eventually had to ask for more napkins when it started running down on to our guest's lap. The men's food order was taken before the ladies. When the food arrived two side dishes... More

Skylon with its clean 1950 lines and stunning views of the Thames and westminster is perfect backdrop for lunch or dinner. Staff are attentive and the grill is competitively priced with a simple menu which should suit all tastes. Cocktails are great and they have a few non alcoholic options too. Best tables are along the amazing window which really... More

Booked a table for 9pm after watching a live show recorded at London Studios round the corner. it over ran and we didn't get to the restaurant until 10pm. They were completely relaxed, had saved our table for us (window seat as requested). We got prompt, efficient and friendly service, despite the fact they were very busy and we weren't... More

I have visited this restaurant on several occasions with friends and work colleagues. I have sat by the window at lunchtime, where the view was excellent (though you can't reserve this, as it depends on numbers of customers on the day); I've also had dinner in the evening, stting in the main areas away from the window several times. I've... More
