Description: Situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, perfect for...
Situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, perfect for visitors to Southbank, Skylon combines retro style with unbeatable views of the London skyline from triple-height picture windows to create a stunning dining complex. Situated by the central cocktail bar, the informal Skylon Grill restaurant offers light a la carte meals in a casual ambience. Executive Chef, Adam Gray describes his food as modern British – simple, honest and with a sometimes unusual twist on classic dishes. Renowned for its extensive wine list, the Skylon Bar also stands out for its quality cocktails and stunning view of the Southbank. A destination in its own right, Skylon Bar alone attracts many culture vultures who share the company of magazine editors and members of Parliament.

Super service

We had a great table, shame about the weather. Food was very good the bread is delicious. I had the fish and chips and pecan brownie. Our only complaint is that we received the wrong bill and where charge in excess of £100 for someone elses wine. A bit upsetting for our table this should have... read more

I had some difficulty finding a pleasant venue near the Queen Elizabeth Hall on my wife's birthday prior to an evening concert. So, after some searching, I settled on the Skylon with no great hope of something exceptional. We were very pleasantly surprised, however, from start to finish. The staff clearly enjoy their jobs and make every effort to please,... More

We chose this restaurant carefully as we were celebrating my sons graduation. We wanted somewhere special with food to suit ourselves and my sons grandparents. We were not disappointed, the staff were wonderful, kind and very considerate and the food was amazing we could not fault anything. They also noted my sons celebration with a special "congratulations" message on a... More

I have been to the Skylon restaurant on several occasions, all for Sunday lunch and have always enjoyed the meals I've had. When we arrived on Saturday evening to celebrate two 'big' birthdays, it was very busy. However there were plenty of staff on hand - the service was efficient, friendly and polite. Michael Ireland, our waiter went out of... More

Wedding Anniversary Mini Break Review... Went to this restaurant on our first evening in the city (21/7/15) and it is one of the great restaurants. The food, drink and service are all of the highest standards and you can not fault a single thing about this exciting and great restaurant over looking the Thames and North Bank. The food comes... Skylon is one of my favourite dinning places in Sout Bank area, not too many tourists, geat food, nice view and exelent service. Just came back home from another great dinner in Skylon. Food was amazing as always, wine perfect... but the biggest impresion was the lady that looked after us, Her name was Aurore. Woooow! Perfect, she was so... More

Skylon has been a firm favourite of mine on the Southbank for many years now. It's divided in two with the Grill for less formal dining, an impressive bar in the middle, and posh restaurant at one end. All have splendid riverfront views and the food continues to be of excellent quality. I ate there with friends yesterday on the... More

Second visit here for drinks and snacks in the bar. Great views of South Bank if you get a window seat. Amazing range of Cocktails, especially those made with champagne and/or Sipsmiths Gin.

I had bought the London Eye experience with dinner at The Skylon Bar and Grill as a present for my boyfriend's birthday and we really enjoyed our experience. We were sat at the window with a fantastic view of the thames and service was incredibly quick. The food was delicious with a wide range of options, my boyfriend had the... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
