Situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, perfect for visitors to Southbank, Skylon combines retro style with unbeatable views of the London skyline from triple-height picture windows to create a stunning dining complex. Situated by the central cocktail bar, the informal Skylon Grill restaurant offers light a la carte meals in a casual ambience. Executive Chef, Adam Gray describes his food as modern British – simple, honest and with a sometimes unusual twist on classic dishes. Renowned for its extensive wine list, the Skylon Bar also stands out for its quality cocktails and stunning view of the Southbank. A destination in its own right, Skylon Bar alone attracts many culture vultures who share the company of magazine editors and members of Parliament.

This was our second trip back to Skylon and it was as special as the first. Amazing food, great service and as usual a great setting. After our last visit to the Skylon Grill we were nervous of trying it again however a visit from my parents and aunt and uncle was a good opportunity to try out the pre theatre menu. The food was excellent, a good choice at a reasonable price. The service was excellent as well, very attentive but not intrusive. After our... More

Last night at Skylon was truly memorable. Staff were friendly and attentive. In particular Michael Ireland treated our group as if our needs were his priority. He demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu and anticipated our needs without being intrusive. The result was that we felt special! The bream was perfect and the desserts were a tantalising delight. Well done... More

We visited Skylon for Friday night dinner and were blown away by our waiter, Michael Ireland. He was attentive, knowledgable, engaging and made our visit extremely memorable. We opted for the prix fixe in the restaurant. The onion soup amuse bouche, was smooth, light and fluffy with a hint of artichoke/celeriac. I recommend the sublime scallops to start. One of... More

We went with friends for a late lunch before attending The London Studios for a recording of The Graham Norton Show. We were given a warm welcome and shown to an excellent window seat, giving us a great view across The South Bank and The Thames on a sunny afternoon. We all chose to have a prelunch cocktail and then... More

This was our first visit to South Bank Centre and Skylon as members. The views of The Thames were great and service was impeccable, relaxed and very family friendly! Must make a special mention of Micheal Ireland whose hosting skills were outstanding...Can't wait to return - good value for money especially for London!

Not much to say except what is it all about? Very boring and does not have wow factor to pass on to others

We had asked for a river view table when booking - cannot be guaranteed but 5 minute wait and we had one. More expensive than the Brassiere but worth every penny - immaculate and friendly service (Thank you Milos and Avi), Dessert chocolates, macaroons etc. could have been a step to far after an excellent meal, but they were all... I cannot recommend the Skylon highly enough. The food was excellent, as is the location next to the Thames, and the service was impeccable. Would definitely visit again.

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
