Situated on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, perfect for visitors to Southbank, Skylon combines retro style with unbeatable views of the London skyline from triple-height picture windows to create a stunning dining complex. Situated by the central cocktail bar, the informal Skylon Grill restaurant offers light a la carte meals in a casual ambience. Executive Chef, Adam Gray describes his food as modern British – simple, honest and with a sometimes unusual twist on classic dishes. Renowned for its extensive wine list, the Skylon Bar also stands out for its quality cocktails and stunning view of the Southbank. A destination in its own right, Skylon Bar alone attracts many culture vultures who share the company of magazine editors and members of Parliament.

It has beautiful Southbank view. It is very close to everywhere. We had drink and dessert which was ok. But they have slow service. It is nice to try.

Visited the Skylon for my girlfriends birthday celebrations. I had emailed the restaurant beforehand to ask for a table by the window. We didn't get the window seat but the closest table to the table by the window so we could see the great views on the themes and the south bank. Once we had sat down a waiter came... More

I was fortunate enough to be invited to this lovely restaurant for a friends birthday and it was exceptionally good, from the welcome at the door all the way through to the final bite. Although you have to walk through into festival hall itself for the toilets, that is literally the only downside I can think of - it was... More

I have read some of the other reviews, and cannot believe it is the same place. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy let alone a friend, or someone wanting a nice meal. Firstly, food, I ordered the fishcake (at £16.00). This was a main course, when it came it was one fishcake (normal size, not large... More

Dear London RM 2015, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visit on Saturday lunch. I am trully sorry and frustrated to see that your meal was not up to par. I have seen that Both yourself and katherine have created a trip advisor profile following your visit and doubled up your online feedback. I... More

Visited Skylon recently for a special occasion lunch. We had the set menu which is good value. The food was delicious and we both enjoyed our starters and mains. Complimentary bread at the start and mini cakes offered at the end of the meal. The service at the restaurant was fantastic, really attentive staff who were all really friendly. Would... More

Me and my girlfriend went to Skylon for our anniversary and we had a delicious lunch there. Service was very friendly and (although quite formal) we were made to feel very welcome. We had the set menu and had nice starters of ham terrine and a delicious cauliflower soup! This was followed by beef and a goats cheese risotto! Drinks... More

Went to Skylon Grill today for a special occasion and as I had asked for a table with a view we had a table at the front overlooking the river - this was spectacular. Brunch pancakes were small so that was a bit disappointing but coffee was good and service excellent. The eggs Benedict looked better value but really it... More

I visited with a group of friends on 28 February. We had been asked to pre order, which was fine. The food (when it came, and service was slow) was nice, but they hadn't got to grips with the side orders and what did or didn't already come with sides. When we raised that we had some chips missing, we... More

We visited Skylon with friends for a special celebration. Our friends travelled a very long way to meet us there. What a huge disappointment. Two of our party sent their food back. Patronising, unfriendly service. Hugely overpriced for very mean portions. No outstanding flavours in any of our choices. So many other restaurants in London offer wonderful cooking and represent... Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
