Quite simply the best service I've ever experienced, certainly in a London hotel. The staff at the afternoon tea event could not have been more attentive. The tea itself was delightful, gorgeous themed treats all labelled "drink me" or "eat me" a quite brilliant magician was also on hand with some amazing tricks. Superb!

Very high quality British fare. Everything was inventive and fresh. Service was modern, attentive and with a great attitude. I had the rack of lamb which was superb. Additional sides were mouthwatering. Must try multiple sides to share on the table. Desserts were good, but not the highlight of the meal.

It's our favourite spot in Central London. Ambience is relaxing, food 's exquisite and very good value for money; the restaurant itself is a lovely place for lunch and dinner ( been there in both occasions) to enjoy with friends and family. It takes you really away from the hustle and bustle of Central London while the eating experience is... More

Our first visit to the Montagu to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Nice intimate atmosphere with live music - piano and guitar. Very attentive waiting staff to begin with. Champagne flowed. Starters lovely - bite sized. Mains good but roast meat disappointing. Desserts and cheese not replenished so when we went to get some there was limited choice of desserts and... More

We had breakfast three times here and dinner once. The service was first class with great food and a good selection. Their fresh fruit, juices and coffee were a hit in the morning. The evening pastas and main courses were perfect. On the way out, grab a tinfoil surprise in the fish bowl. It is a fortune cookie with a... More

Upon crossing the threshold, the overarching ambience of the Montagu is one of calm serenity. The room is spacious and overlooks Portman Sqaure. The early evening lighting when we dined was low and flattering but not dark. The maitre d' extended genuine welcome despite our lack of a reservation. The stylings of the pianist were a pleasure as well and... More

The restaurant answered all our expectations. We were celebrating a family birthday and wanted a high class restaurant with reasonable prices and a calm atmosphere. Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
