Great place to eat. From the service, to the smiles, to the atmosphere and the food of course. We really like this place. A return when we next visit London will be definite.

Racine has been here for long enough to know what is good and what to avoid. It sticks to French staples and does them competently. Nothing outstanding - just really decent French food served by friendly staff.

A good Saturday lunch out is an important meal in our household now and again and many rated restaurants in London give this meal-time a miss by not opening. But at Racine you will be in safe hands on all fronts. From the moment you walk through the door an expert, attentive, friendly and perhaps surprisingly small team with no... More

Service and food excellent. We were not disappointed - we had eaten here 2 years ago, Attentive wait staff and comfortable seating, allowing us to talk. So many restaurants these days have hard surfaces all around, that make it impossible to hold a conversation. This is the exception.

Had a fantastic date night here. The service was friendly and attentive, the baguettes were toasty hot from the oven, so the butter melted right into them. Just divine. We started with a delicious orange and sparkling wine cocktail; I had the pate for my starter which was meaty and delicious (I've had some overly pasty/creamy pates before and they're... More

It's quite some time since I reviewed Racine, but the meals Tony and I had today merited such praise that I went to my laptop as soon as we arrived home. Tony had the prix fixe menu @ £19.50; I went a la carte. Tony's starter was an unctuous vichychoise soup, mine was a poached duck's egg with braised leeks... More

I have been to Racine twice now and I really like this place. I love the informal, French brassiere style atmosphere and menu. Last time my friends and I chose to sample a selection of starters between the three of us and just choosing them was the hardest thing to do, the food is just very good and the fact... More

Menu is very traditional and so is the service. Everyone who worked there appeared to be French and though polite, were incredibly formal. I had the duck confit which was too salty and not crispy enough. My mother had the sea bream which she enjoyed. My aunt found the lamb to be too salty too. The creme caramel had too... More

Had a most enjoyable dinner at this restaurant. Was like being back in Paris. Very French. Our duck confit was great, but the best was the riz du lait dessert. Sublime! The wine prices were reasonable for London. We had a carafe of the house wine, which was pleasant. Exceptional service. The best food we had in London, including our... More

After a recent regular visit to Racine, I am happy to report it is unchanged. This is a place to go for the food so it is right that neither the service nor the ambiance intrude. Service is attentive - but not intrusively friendly. The decor remains completely in the background as it should. For starters, we had crab Florentine... More
