Description: Moti Mahal is the chic London outpost of the celebrated Delhi restaurant which opened in 1959. 'An unexpected delight' (Hardens Guide), Inspired by the culinary roots of India, particularly along the famed Grand Trunk Road, Chef Anirudh Arora brings you time-honoured dishes and recipes. By accentuating new tastes and flavours from India's richly woven history, the new menu at Moti Mahal is a feast for the senses. A perfect setting, with curved glass-fronted kitchen and gleaming copper bar, and attentive service will transform your meal in a memorable experience, and Moti Mahal is also 'perfect before a show' (Zagat).

I have always loved MM. I have come here for special meals (and others) over the years so you can imagine my disappointment when I was herded by a sullen faced woman (a first also, normally there is such a warm welcome) to the room downstairs (never been there before and there was no warning even though I had booked... With a menu which demonstrates the wonderful variety of food found in India, Moti Mahal is a must visit foodie experience. From poppadoms accompanied by a wild boar chutney to perfectly spice poussin, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Even the post-meal hand towels are a fun bit of theatre which only adds to the wonderful experience at Moti... More

This is not your average Indian restaurant in any way. As soon as you walk through the door you know you're in for something a bit different. The service is fist class, friendly and attentive with helpful explanations of the menu and dishes. The food is outstanding - fresh, brilliantly well cooked, excitingly presented and really tasty. OK, so it... More

agree with all the good reviews posted. we ate at 530, pre- heatre, but were not offered the pre-theatre fixed price menu. maybe that was a bit of a sneaky way to sell up extras on the a la carte.( I think rice and some poppadums would have added a at least a tenner), but we stuck to the basics... Lovely restaurant, pricey but excellent food. A different Indian cuisine. Very fresh flavours. A good range of Gins too! Didn't manage dessert. Really enjoyed aubergine pakoras, lamb chops, and loved the salad plate on arrival. Mango and Basil chutney was good. Will visit again when we're in Covent Garden.

This was my second visit to Moti Mahal and as before the quality of the cooking on display really sets it apart. Big flavours but with a subtlety and skill to the cooking that shows the Chef can really cook. In fact some of the seemingly most simple dishes from the grill stand out, with the Chicken tikka the best... More

This was my very first time eating Indian out (besides the buffet places, which don't truly count). Having not been a massive fan of Indian I have to say I did enjoy my experience. Everything served in front of me was not only palatable but very delicious. The restaurant was a perfect setting for a romantic evening with my girlfriend... More

We ate here years ago before I was GF/DF and loved it. While still good, the food was somewhat disappointing as gluten free and dairy free. The chef omitted gluten and dairy items but didn't substitute or replace items so it wasn't very special. The cauliflower side dish was the highlight of the meal. Expensive. Probably won't be back due... More

I took 3 colleagues here for a late lunch treat as they had chosen to come here above other restaurants in the area. I've been here a few time before but not for a few years. I knew it was going pricey but recalled the flavours here were amazing & the smells from the kitchen out of this world. We... More

Best birthday meal I've had for a while. Everyone sang me happy birthday and received nothing but the best service. Highly recommend it
