I live nearby, hence visit Whits quite often. I must say this is probably the best restaurant in London in terms of food/price ratio. Quality is pretty high as well, but go in prepared to eat quite a lot. Especially if compared to current high end restaurants' standards. Try the Lobster ravioli. The lady who owns the place is a... My partner took 2 of my best friends and myself for a special treat to celebrate a very special birthday, mainly because he thought it was meant to be a French restaurant and had lobster on the menu. All these came with a little disapointment as there was no French person as a member of the staff. The Lobster was... More

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your visit to us but we are baffled -we do not “purport” anywhere either to be staffed by French people or to be French ourselves! Our website makes it quite obvious we are not French, the menu is not written in French and Whits is not a French name. Our French... More

Starter Soused herring my favourite, but why the anchovies and why the olive oil drizzle and balsamic...and then there was also an apple purée, and beetroot sauce. Oh yes and the horseradish potatoes, not to mention a mousseline of something and ah yes. Individually all the items were splendid but the result was a flavour assault course that did not... More

I would certainly recommend Whits to anyone. We had a very warm welcome from the staff from the start and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. It wasn't too big and had perfect lighting. The food is excellent, I had Lobster ravioli to start which was fantastic. The service was quick, and I was shocked by the price at the... More

I did expect this place to be good since I had chosen it for its excellent reviews, but as it turns out it exceeded my expectations. The food was truly excellent and well presented. The service was very well timed, the size of the portions was good, the atmosphere relaxed and the seating comfortable. The combination of tastes exploded in... More

It is a week since we've been to whits and the experience remains fresh in my mind (and my tastebuds!). I've used tripadvisor many times to search for restaurants but have never been compelled to write a review until now. I went with my family who were visiting the UK and they were also blown away by Whits. The food... More

We have been to Whits quite a few times now and it is still the best quality to price ratio in London. This is where a perfidious English chef sources the best ingredients from France only to produce outstandingly good food that outdoes 99% of French restaurants (in fact our gourmet French visitor said it was the best meal he... My wife and I went to Whits on a Saturday evening, and if ever a restaurant gets it right, Whits definitely have. The food is fantastic and Front of house is so relaxed but so professional. A little gem says all.
