Try the Gvine gin perfect with Sushi

We had a great evening there ...fresh raw lobster, lobster soup, delicate sushi and flavorsome Wagu. The staff were very friendly and were totally professional in their advice and descriptions. Sitting at the bar best place as you can see all the food being prepared with great skill an art display.

We have visited this amazing, faultless restaurant several times. The service is exceptional and personal yet discreet, all the staff remembered our previous visits and always were able to recall previous conversations ( very impressive) added to the impeccable fantastic food this is definitely my favourite place in London. Unfortunately due to the pricing we can't visit it as often... More

The food was amazing, but as a lover of most foods and being spoilt for choice in London, I chose "best dining experience" as the title for this review. It really was. But be warned, it was also the most expensive! Worth every penny though and we did not hold back either. Nobu may have more atmosphere, but food wise... More

I have been to umu a few time. From all perspective, it never let me down. The smoky wagyu beef was superb, don't think you can get any better. Fish are super fresh and the presentation was just wonderful. Keep up. I will come back for sure.

We were looking for a good Japanese restaurant. Disappointed by Nobu. We wanted something different. We took 2 menus, Friday evening. We enjoyed it very much with the wagyu and desserts as highlights. We were quite hungry and contrary to many reviews, we were full at the end (without being uncomfortable ). We knew the price range so no surprises... More

You're kidding ?? Sushi was fine but not at all worth the money . Go elsewhere it's really not worth it. For that price you could eat at Europe's best restaurants and this is not one of them .

We had lunch at Umu on a Friday afternoon and the ambiance was ideal. We started with an "Owa" beer to try something new and a glass of wine. As I'm vegetarian, I was afraid not to find variety on the menu, but I was happy to discover new flavours such a "Tokyo leek" , "Bambu" or "Shishito pepper" in... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
