Description: Our iconic Mayfair restaurant has been transformed for a new culinary...
Our iconic Mayfair restaurant has been transformed for a new culinary chapter. First established in 1931, The Grill at The Dorchester quickly gained a reputation as the place to be for the finest grill food in London. In keeping with this original concept, Alain Ducasse's protege Christophe Marleix has created new seasonal menus. Delicious dishes range from grill favourites alongside the restaurant's signature blue lobster chowder and an extensive sweet souffle menu - the first of its kind in London. Lively and welcoming, the re-imagined restaurant fuses The Dorchester's iconic elegance with a contemporary tone and creative details. Interior architect Bruno Moinard was commissioned by The Dorchester to create a vibrant and timeless setting.

Little gem inside the Dorchester hotel

Beautiful dining room, attentive but not invasive staff, lovely open serving area where you can see the food being cooked, this is a lovely spot. Most importantly the food is superb. Went her for a business lunch on the set menu and the food was fablous. Because they did not have our original choice from the menu we were offered souflees as compensation which were truly wonderful. Superb meal

Our trip was in December so maybe things have improved since then, I hope so, as they needed to. I have to say the anticipation of the "improved" grill was of big excitement. We stay at the Dorchester a couple of times a year but have to eat away from the hotel often as the in house restaurants are not... More

Under the silver dome is the best roast beef in England!. Do not forget the gravy and horseradish. The wine list is extensive. It is best to go for lunch as you will save some bread. If you take a leisurely lunch you can stay on for tea but let your server know as it get very busy.

We had a very warm welcome the menu was not vast !with a glass of champagne to start they brought up a nice fishy dip with a small biscuit the bread was just ordinary white or brown,to start I had gravlax which is like smoked salmon which was good, the main course was beef cooked to perfection we asked for... I was treated to a birthday meal by my wife at The Grill, and I have to say other than it being a treat I was pleasantly surprised. The Dorchester itself is a wonderfully lavish hotel, with fine décor and a 'recently' refurbished The Grill echoes that mentality. We arrived early for an early evening meal and had the entire... The newly, and finally after 40 years (!), renovated GRILL came out impressive. Open Kitchen view, plus excellent lighting. The food is Dorchester-Quality, home-grown-garage-smoked Salmon purveyors, tasty eggs all styles, soft-boiled makes the day. The bacon thick, the bread supply fully stacked, the coffee ok, better order one from an Espresso-Computer, or have the Ristretto in the Business Center. Staff... More

We last ate here two years ago. That time we had things like smoked pigeon for starters. The mains, from what I can remember, were different from your average restaurant, a little special. Which, when you go to the Dorchester, is what you want. You want Fine Dining. You want to try something different, some different tastes. The Dorchester Grill... More

Yes having read the spectator review of the grill today it reminded me I had not written here how much we enjoyed our lunch here last Sunday . My family and I recently celebrated my wife's 60th birthday at The Grill and couldn't have been more impressed. Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
