Charming Pub on the River

Had lunch there yesterday Very good food, and an excellent choice of ales. Right on the River, so if you want a table outside it's best to book. Good service, with lovely views.

We visited on a Sunday. Food and service were excellent. The location along the river was gorgeous. Relaxed atmosphere, cozy, friendly.

I used to live near Stamford Brook tube, so the Dove used to be a local pub for me. I decided to go back for a visit with a friend as I was in the Hammersmith area. I was pleased to see nothing has changed in the 20 years since I was last there, pubs as historic as this should... More

I needed a friendly, cosy lunch on a very, very wet day and The Dove was perfect. I had a colourful and filling lamb salad: I like establishments that serve seasonal, fresh ingredients. Well done and thank you for making me welcome.

This pub won my heart. To the extend that we spent two hours in the afternoon there enjoying wine with a view and made a booking for dinner for the same day. Apparently The Dove is super old with about 350 years of history. There is a tiny pub room near the entrance which is officially the smallest pub room... More

We usually go there for lunch on a week day but went there on a Sunday. It's getting very touristic with all the publicity they got on several publications and after looking at the Sunday roast on other guests' tables we decided against it as it looked like something from a cheap eatery but at a stiff price. And, BTW... More

As a family of four we went to The Dove to have a good dinner on our last day of our London vacation. Three of us went for the most expensive dish on the menu card - the sirlion steak (at GBP 18). After the plates were served we all realized that the food was not hot, either the serving... More

This is a fabulous pub - tucked away just off one of the busiest roads into central London. The food is delicious, great beer and the location is very special - as its on the Thames River. You can enjoy a lovely meal, enjoy a beer and appreciate the view - watching the boats and rowers on the river and... More

The location of this pub is fantastic - right on the river and with a great outlook. Service is friendly but the last few times when we have come here to eat they have always run out of whatever we wanted to order, which is becoming increasingly annoying. This is especially irritating as we have come at mainstream times, either... More

Hi Vicky, Thank you for your review, and your comments about certain dishes sometimes being off the menu. At the Dove we pride ourselves in serving only the freshest food, and so in peak times we can occassionally run out of certain items on the menu. We would probably recommend that you perhaps you book and pre-order in advance next,... More
