We had perhaps the best Indian restaurant meal ever. Good thing, too, given it was also the most expensive. There are plenty of dishes from which to choose a la carte, but we opted for the more elaborate of the two set meals in order to have the greatest variety of tastes. Interestingly, none of them were curry! Restaurant is... More

Best dinner in London in a while. In the UK and London for business. Ordered a Chilean Cab Sav 2005 Albis for 92 pounds. Best and most memorable wine for some time. My associate had lobster tail, I had chicken tikka, with basket of naan bread in garlic - and saffron rice to share - just absolutely excellent! Can't wait... More

My lasting memory of this restaurant is that it served the most unpleasant New Zealand Sauvignon blanc I have had in a long time. Not worth £80 per bottle.

I have visited Tamarind Restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the excellent food. On Valentines night 2014 we visited to find a set menu for the evening. I have gluten intolerances and am vegetarian - the restaurant immediately dealt with this situation and provided substitute dishes with no hesitation. Highly commended.

I booked this restaurant last September for my husband's birthday and was not impressed at all... The food & ambience were good - have no complaints, however this is about it. Cannot say much about the service though... One of the staff members looked so stressed & worked out - I felt bad for the poor thing. I was promised... More

I recently reviewed another tamarind in London by mistake. This is no doubt the best Indian I have ever had, coming from someone who is not a fan ordinarily of Indian cuisine. I visited reluctantly and am so glad we did as the food was simply amazing. The service brilliant and we had an amazing meal. We will most definitely... More

We were at Tamarind yesterday evening and we were left feeling somewhat disappointed. The starters (papdi chat and chicken kebab) were both tasty. The main I ordered was not available so I picked another dish (gucchi kofta) but chef was kind enough to make a saag paneer as a bonus so that was definitely appreciated. Both the saag paneer and kofta... My first meal in London on a recent trip won't soon be forgotten! An old friend and I had dinner on a recent Friday night and I look forward to returning to Tamarind on my next trip to London. We were shown to a table in the middle of the dining room--perfect for people-watching--by the kind, friendly staff. Our waiter... More

We ate at this wonderful place about one year ago. A return trip in 2014 did not disappoint. The pre-theatre dinner was superb. The lamb and chicken dishes were top notch. It is not cheap, but Tamarind is well worth the price. Make a reservation, in advance.

Four of us went for Sunday lunch and had the set Sunday lunch menu with wine pairing. Without wine it is £32 per head and with 2 glasses of wine £42 per head. It was nice that there was a choice of wine. The food was well presented, tasty and not in the least heavy or greasy and the ingredients... More
