Amazing food and very nice people. The decor in this place is quite dark but it's very pleasant. I would definitely go back here again, the food was well prepared and of great quality.. I left feeling full but not too full.. it was just right. I recommend the Cheese naan, wow.. ordered by accident but tasted amazing. Only tiny... More

Everything I am learning to expect from the London dining experience. nice greeting, efficient seating, effective ordering and persistent seeking of approval. I had the Lamb Shank and my wife had the chicken something (effectively a creamy tikka) We also had nan/rive/dal. The food was very tasty and we would have eaten all of it if we hadn't become full... Fab friendly welcome from lovely ladies at reception. This was continued by the restaurant Manager and his staff. We last dined here roughly 5-6 years ago and loved our experience which is why we returned today. We live in Scotland and sadly this lovely restaurant is not available to us on a regular basis. The food is lovely, the staff... More

I don't have a bad word to say about the Tamarind. The staff were polite, friendly, attentive and took care of us with a wonderful sense of grace and poise. And the food was beautiful!! It was our anniversary and we were give a glass of complimentary pink fizz and piece of chocolate torte on a decorated plate, which was... More

Went there on a Friday night. It started phatastically! As it has star in the Michelin guide, we belived that they could pair wine with the food - we were naive. The starters and the first main course went fine. Then it was down hill! We paid approx. £150 for 2 persons - but that was REALLY NOT worth it.... More

The Chefs at Tamarind are no doubt very good and the food is good to very good. Competent cooking, if a little standard. The location in the heart of Mayfair is also convenient for those in the west end. However the restaurant is in a basement and that means that the rent is likely to be low and this fact... More

Nice restaurant and staff. Not very busy but it was a Wednesday. Food was very tasty and filling. Good selection of wines with each course although I would have liked a bit more in the glass!! Very expensive but a nice treat

Went here for a special birthday. We all love good food and we have dined at many restaurants before. Unfortunately, Tamarind was a bit of a let down. Amongst other things, we ordered the vegetable kofta, prawns and chicken for the main meals. Whilst the description of them were all very different on the menu, the sauces were nearly identical,... Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
