A traditional curry house in London's East End, serving tantalising favourites such as Chicken Rezala & Lamb Lemongrass, there are a plethora of dishes to choose from as well as a competitively priced set meal. This 180 seater restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere especially on a Friday night. However if you prefer, there is a 60 seat private function room with a bar available on request. Friendly staff and memorable food make this venue the place to go for a spicy night out.

One of the good ones in Brick Lane

In an area dominated by Bengali cuisine and many restaurants fronted by 'hard sell' staff on the door this place was a pleasant surprise. Clean, light and friendly with customers already there around 6pm (a good sign!) this place made a real change from the usual Brick Lane experience - would... read more

The food is top quality. Eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and this is one of the best around. Good price too at around £180 for 7 people. 3 courses including drinks. Would definitely eat here again. Service good too.

Butter chicke taste of no butter and was sweet instead of spice. Cheese nan was without cheese, and tandoori chicken was again poor in taste. Better to avoid.

We chose this Indian based on the good reviews we had read. We visited on a Friday night, and it was already fairly busy when we arrived around 8.30pm. We were promised free drinks and 20% off food, which is pretty standard for every Brick Lane Indian. The bill came to around £40 for a meal (no starter or dessert,... More

I haven't been here to eat in recent years but on an evening out we popped in for dinner and the food was excellent. While some of the restaurants nearby were quite, this place was busy and I can see why. I believe it is still run by the same family for the past 30 years, maintaining good standards. Make... More

There are lots to choose from, but we ate at the Standard Balti House restaurant last night and it is a stand-out. Food was delicious (particularly the Balti and Sylheti vegetarian and the aloo gobi). Mango lassi was the best we've had. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Staying in Spitalfields

Neighborhood Profile
Spitalfields
For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the next big global trend, the hipster zone of Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting some of London's most popular bars and clubs.

Wedged between the business-minded City of London, expressly trendy Shoreditch, and zestful Whitechapel, the lines between traditional and contemporary beautifully blur in this historic East End nexus.
