Very lovely dinner.

in the Savoy Hotel. We were looking for a good prime rib. Seems this is the closest thing. Good Roast beef carved at your table. Lovely roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and salad. Very good service also. Loved the décor and ambiance. It is pricey.

We visited here on a weekday evening to celebrate an anniversary, and were shown promptly to the table. Were not offered pre-dinner drinks, my chair didn't fit under the table and there were hairs on the table cloth, lampshade held on by masking tape, not the best start. Food is average, it's basically a carvery at your table, my husband's... More

Owned by the Savoy, and with standards to match. The dining room is a historical London gem, so much so it is even described in the menu. The food is British at its finest, and Sunday lunch is a real treat.

My first visit for me but a trip down memory lane for my hubby. This used to only allow men in but now it has relaxed its laws and women can dine and men can be in the restaurant without ties. We took advantage of LIVING SOCIAL deal that was on offer and it was two courses with a glass... More

Wanted to come here since about 1980. Along with Rules it's THE restaurant to go to if you want to eat traditional BRITISH. heard it may be closing down so managed to go via a birthday present. Although tired the ambience is lovely, wood panelled walls etc. 150 years old or more I think. Owned by the Savoy I think... More

We chose Simpsons as my parents like traditional food but unfortunately I think it it is overpriced and the food was mediocre , it was a busy night hence the service was slow and not attentive enough for the prices you are paying to the point my mothers potatoes that accompanied her meal arrived half way through and my fathers... The food was very good. The service was very good. It was a little pricey but I think you are paying for the ambiance of being a restaurant that has been around for a very long time. I'm glad I went the one time but likely wouldn't go a second.

Four of us visited Simpson's on the Strand for the first time last Saturday. What a delightful surprise. A beautiful and atmospheric restaurant, supported by helpful and attentive staff. Best of all the food was fabulous, with generous portion size. Well worth a visit. We will definitely be back, and soon. Highly recommended.

Having eaten in Simpsons for nearly 50 years, it is with great pleasure that on this my latest visit I found the Beef of the highest quality & the service to be commensurate with the standards that fit a restaurant that is part of the Fairmont Group. The welcome of Thomas who has been there for 10 years was appreciated,... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
