If you want to experience proper traditional English fare in a great location with magnificent old decor Simpsons wont disappoint. Ask for a booth for privacy for intimate or business meetings.

You enter into a large dining room, was quiet on my visit but i feel it would be dreadfully noisy when full, tables are close together so no privacy, if you want a romantic tete a tete this is not the place. Carvery roast was ok but had better locally for heaps less. Not for me sadly and i will... More

It is totally unbelievable that this marvellous historical (and, as I understand it, very profitable) establishment is to be closed down by the Savoy group - total madness - but I had to make a pilgrimage before that happened. They say that the food served (up-market traditional English verging on the boarding school) is not to modern taste, but there... More

Fantastic atmosphere wonderful food with really friendly staff. The menu is varied but for us it was The roast cooked to perfection and carved at the table. As dinner was so good we went back for breakfast which was perfection. Can't wait to go again.

This is not just plain old dining ... it is even higher than fine dining ... it is culinary theater and food as an art form! The serving "ceremony" by waiters, wine stewards, bakery people and salad servers is not to be missed. The food (oops sorry!) fare ... is "hardcore" traditional" British ... Scottish Roast Beef (carved from a... More

I have eaten in Simpson's on different occasions over the past twenty years, and I am the third generation of my family to make it a place to meet with friends. It without doubt holds a special place in offering a traditional English restaurant of the "Old-School", and that has become both its strength and its weakness. I had booked... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
