Traditional fayre, excellent service

Simpson's still delivers - excellent service and all the tradition of old. I love the roast carved on the trolley. The upstairs bar is very good for business or to chat to friends.

Came here with a friend on a Sunday lunch deal. Very much about where you are dining and less about the food. The food itself was a very good Sunday lunch although I wouldn't say fine dining. The venue is what you would expect from the Strand of elegance along side culture. Worth a try on a deal only

We used a Groupon deal for 4 of us Visited after matinee theatre show. So glad we did. The food is typically English and the Roast Beef and Roast Lamb served at the table are the main feature. We all had the Beef. Superbly cooked and served. Starters were also excellent. No room for deserts but they did look good!!... More

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with a friend and it was wonderful. The meat was carved at the table and everything else seem to work seamlessly. There was a pianist in the corner and the atmosphere was great. The food was great the service was even better. I look forward to another visit.

Booked birthday dinner for select family and friends. Had been to the Savoy previously and wanted to try more. So disappointed: the restaurant looked dark and rundown and needing refurbishment. The first waiter who served us was miserable and cranky and did not arrive with our order of drinks, had to reorder our aperitifs from another waiter. The chefs going... More

Went on a Groupon to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Had been here once before for a carvery course and lunch. Service was good, Nick was very attentive, lovely demeanour. Pate starter was delicious and the rare roast beef was great - only gripe was the Yorkshire pudding was not as good as mine- like cardboard so left on the side... More

We went to Simpson's to see if fond memories of 30 years ago were justified, but the rose tinted glasses have stopped working. Simpson's is fine if you want to experience the atmosphere of a grand, staid institution. Nostalgia is what this place trades and thrives on, but as we all know nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Service... More

What a fantastic restaurant. Visited on Sunday for lunch with friends and had a lovely time. A typical old English restaurant that are hard to come by these days. Everything about it was excellent. Food, service, choice on menu and overall experience. Have wanted to go for a long time and shall definitely be returning soon. I would recommend to... More

Had a great night here on Sunday night celebrating my Wife's Birthday. The food was the best of British with the best beef I have tasted. Would recommend to anyone looking for great British food in great surroundings.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
