A real gem - local style restaurant with super cooking

Went with a group of wine afficianados and took out own wine, paying corkage. The welcome was very friendly, partly as the guy organising it is a bit of a regular. The private room was ideal for 12 people with a nice big table. Starters looked stunning and tasted every bit as good (see... read more

I hadn't been to this restaurant for more than 30 years and to my joy found it was still open, and better than ever. It's tucked away in a side street but very convenient for the National Theatre etc. There is a set menu which my friends went for, but I went a la carte and had a starter of... More

RSJ is located in the slight no-man's land between Waterloo and London Bridge, set too far back form the river to be really "South Bank". It's a small, family run restaurant which has clearly been there for years and has a regular clientele. I took a colleague there for lunch, on a recommendation from a friend, and was not disappointed.... More

Came here for my work's Christmas lunch and didn't know what to expect. It is fair to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was top notch and was matched by the service. Great dining experience without it being pretentious. Only situated a 5 minute walk from Waterloo station, this is a gem of a restaurant.

As you can probably tell we hate large chains & refuse to use them, this restaurent is a fine example of why you should support local businesses . The food was excellent ,the staff were efficient, friendly & very knowledgeable. The Restaurent itself is very clean & set in a pleasent room. It was fairly priced & within 5 mins walking distance... We were staying on the Southbank and our concierge recommended this restaurant. It had a lot of charm and reminded me of many good restaurants I ate in in Paris. The food was quite good and fairly priced. The server and owner were quite nice. I hope to return to RSJ the next time I am in London. It's a... More

Excellent food and wine to be discovered 2 minutes from the south bank. Well worth the adventure off the beaten track.

We were invited to a friends birthday party which was held in the private dining room. Warm and friendly staff greeted us at the door and a quirky trip down one flights of stairs and up another brought us back to the ground floor but on the other side! There was enough room for about 20 of us standing around... More
