We went here as it had great reviews and because there were lots of vegetarian options on the website menu ( 2 in our company were vegetarians.) However when we arrived there was only 1 vegetarian option which was a little disappointing. Apart from that the restaurant is a joy to dine in and the food we had was very... More

We decided to try the RSJ after reading good reviews about the restaurant. As soon as we entered the building we were given a warm welcome. The tables are quite small so when the four of us sat down it felt quite cosy and as the restaurant was busy possibly a bit cramped. There is a set menu but the... More

I was surprised by this place, if I was walking by I would have never ever gone in. So well to the recommendation and booking us in. It was pleasant. Food, wine, atmosphere were all outstanding.

We had dinner with friends and we all loved the place and our food. Smoked fish and warm potato salad a delight and steaks and lamb were tender and tasty. Great wines. A little noisy as there are lots of people in a small space but congenial.

Every year a group of us visit the Globe theatre and every year we finish off the day with a meal at RSJ. I have never been disappointed. I usually opt for the fixed price menu - three courses for around £20 but you can have one or two courses if you prefer. This year I quite fancied the salmon... More

This is one of the best meals we've had out this year. A return for me after about three years but a first for my husband. He's now a bit surprised we hadn't been before. We started with crab salad and duck egg with girolles followed by pork and lamb. All were excellent and beautifully cooked with very generous portions.... More

Handy venue for those on the Southbank but not wanting to be swarmed by tourists or ripped off due to the location. RSJ is a street or 2 back from the river (5 mins by foot) and about the same from Waterloo Rail Station. Light and airy, been here maybe 6 times over the years and NEVER been disappointed. Great... This restaurant is on the corner of a Coin a Street, close to the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall etc. there is a set menu of three courses for £19.95 but the a la carte menu is more exciting. My starter was duck's egg with samphire and my main course wild sea trout with a mashed sweetcorn base. The prices... More

old favourite and still going strong. On this occasion we used it for a pre-theatre meal with friends, good food well served in convivial surroundings and an interesting wine list with many wines from the Loire. Well priced and close to the South Bank, bur away from the crowd.
