We just popped in for a beer but also had a lunchtime meal. A good selection of cask ales and my wife enjoyed the mulled wine. The food was pretty good - normal pub fare but we enjoyed it.
Great location, good beer, briskly efficient but essentially unfriendly staff. Awful awful food. Potatoes from a packet (just add hot water!), a steak and ale pie full of gristle and mixed frozen veg pulled from a packet and heated up. Go there for the history, a beer and a a view, but eat before you go or when you leave.
I have been visiting this pub on and off for the past 20 years, often choosing it for special celebrations. It is a lovely old traditional pub with a stunning location right by the river. There is a good selection of (quite expensive!) drinks and the menu is varied and good. Staff are fine but I have one complaint which... More

Famously frequented by "Hanging" Judge Jeffries, there is even a gallows at the front of the pub to commemorate his custom! The pub offers a fine range of real ales and extensive food menu, which can be enjoyed whilst watching the Thames river... More
Went here for a meal with the family on a saturday night. The food was standard pub food but very good. Prices a little higher than the norm but as it is in London not overly so. It had a good atmosphere/ambience and I would definitely go here again, it even had a few good real ales to try along... More

The furnishings were warm and friendly as were the staff. The pub offers camra discount which was good. However, my issue with lots of Taylor walker pubs is that I rarely can find an... More

The tables started to fill up behind us (we were on the ground floor overlooking the Thames) and when we noticed that they were being served their mains the warning... More
