I was excited to try Marcus. His time at Petrus yielded the best food experience I have ever had but I am sad to report that Marcus has got lazy. To start with the 'revamped' Marcus is insipidly bland and has a tired 70s feel to the room, which is a bad place to start...considering this is supposed to be... More

So Marcus Wareing has re opened his restaurant at the Berkley, now renamed MARCUS. Hell knows why - I can only presume a square specticalled marketing 'dude' thought it would keep the place 'relevant'/ some other st**e to precipitate his large consultancy fee for the rebrand. Happily square specticalled man hasn't changed too much in the restaurant. What I do... More

Having eaten here a few times previously I wondered what effect the recent changes might have on the food, service and ambience. As another reviewer has remarked ' it is even better' Debatable I feel, but certainly no worse. The food has always been exquisite, the service discreet and attentive. The ambience...well what would one expect. A tad formal. I... More

I have dined at Marcus Wareing a couple of times prior to their refurbishment but this was the first time in the new dining room. What is apparent is the dining room is a lot brighter and a lot more spacious. With the new more relaxed concept, the restaurant has also done away with the other extras, namely the amuse... More

Went for dinner with partner. We were a bit early so had a drink in the blue bar, which was lovely. Shown to our table and noted that the atmosphere was really quite relaxed for this type of restuarant with people having fun and chatting. We went for the vegetarian tasting menu with the wines to accompany it. The food... More

The ultimate summer treat was to bring my 3 children to the Michelin Marcus restaurant-- little did I know I didn't do Michelin Speak!! The waiter offered a raspberry lemonade for the 3 boys and myself and when I got the bill the cost was £52 or $87 for the round of 4. When I called to complain a week... More

We travelled up to London and stayed at The Langham just to eat at this restaurant but went away disappointed. The room was very nice so that was a plus but as soon as we had opened the wine list the sommelier came over and despite me saying we did not need advice immediately pointed to 3 wines at £650+... Its always a risk when a restaurant changes but this one is a real success. Our previous experience here was great but the changes have really brightened the room while retaining the calm elegant feeling. Really like the flexible approach of being able to choose multiple starters, and/or multiple main dishes and/or multiple desserts - its great when its hard... More

We enjoyed a Saturday set menu lunch at Marcus. The set lunch only has two options per course. The menu doesn't include much detail so I would recommend asking the wait staff for more information. We arrived for a 1pm lunch and the restaurant was quite empty, from 2pm it filled up and had much more atmosphere, at the beginning... More

The whole meal was excellent from start to finish! There were 4 of us and everyone of us had something different and each dish was perfect! Service was also excellent. A wonderful place to go when you want the best!
