Made a special trip when returned to London visiting friends to take my wife to what used to be the best ice cream shop around. Restaurant has got a lot smaller, prices a lot bigger, quaility just OK and service well the only waitress was doing her best. Such a shame.

Marine Ices has changed hands. Sometimes this can be a good thing, but in this case it is disastrous. This restaurant has been run-down, scaled down and dumbed down so that is no longer recognizable. What charm it has is now gone, it is reduced to a run-of-the-mill cheap nosh-shop ... even its ice-cream parlour is no longer to be... More

This is the only place around that does ice cream, so I guess they profit from the lack of possible alternatives. Hence, the prices are very high, staff tend to have friendly and rather unfriendly days alike, the place tends to be messy and covered in rubbish and ice cream out the front, but then the ice cream does taste... Let's be clear - this is not the same place that enjoyed huge popularity in the 80s and 90s (and I presume the noughties too) as the family who set it up and ran it for many decades sold the business a few years ago. It's still trading under the same name and brand, as an Italian restaurant and ice... More

When you have that ice cream craving and just want to have a nice little sit down eating some good ice cream without the hassle of being pressured to order a main etc, this is the place to go. Nice and simple interior with some lovely pictures of possibly Southern italy (that's me guessing it's Minori but could be completely... More

Having been coming to Marine since I was a young child I was very sorry to learn it had been sold. They claim they bought the Marine Ices ice cream recipes. The ice cream is pretty good but not quite the same and there are not nearly the variety there used to be. The menu is small. The restaurant is... More

A standard Italian menu, good value and perfect for a meal before heading to the Roundhouse for a gig. Quick service as well.

Sad to say that I have been going to this iconic very Italian restaurant for ages.....and that more than a year ago it changed hands ......it is now run by Ponti's, a very well established but very average Italian type deli / coffee shop / sandwich shop..... This was a sad discovery.....as the Manzi family had owned and managed this... More

Took the kids for a weekend ice cream and it was all very average. The ice cream was dull, it just tasted as if it were from the supermarket. Considering the ice cream options around, Golders Hill Park and St. Johns Wood it really needs to change. Ironically the savoury food they were serving, especially the pizza's, looked good.

Trusted Italian that I'd definitely recommend for the food and ice cream. Unfortunately the restaurants interior does not come anywhere near the standard if the food and in fact let's the food down. However despite this marine ices is a trusted favourite.
