The Light House opened in 1999 to great critical acclaim and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Now well established as a friendly, neighbourhood restaurant with a modern, international menu and an inspiring selection of wines. The friendly, professional service contributes to its well deserved reputation as one on of the best places to eat in South West London. We now have air-conditioned dining too!

A good lunchtime meal

We were a party of 7 with a table booked for 12.00 noon on a Thursday. We had the three course set menu and we were more than satisfied with the scope of the set menu and with the cooking/presentation of our meals. The menus is well thought through, a great selection of very interesting dishes. The food looked great when it came and it was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly and we had a great night all around!

Good food, great chef , ambient atmosphere and good service in this local restaurant for locals and tourists alike. Not pretentious and worth a visit.

...is the Light House on the Ridgeway - which is an absolute joy. Really grown-up cooking of imaginative combinations of super fresh ingredients without unnecessary frills. There is usually a choice of about eight items in each section of the a la carte menu - starters, mains and desserts. We are always stuck for choice as we fancy at least... More

I have to say that overall I was disappointed. The tables were too close together, the food although ok took a long time to come and the restaurant was not even busy. There was little atmosphere I guess as a result of there not being many people in which was quite surprising as it was Friday evening.

I went to this restaurant for late lunch as it offers very good deal (less than 20 pounds for 3 courses). It is a 5 minute walk from Wimbledon Village high street (meaning not on the high street). Like some others mentioned, maybe it is a bit crowded seating if it is very busy, but it was 3pm and lunch... More

We had a most enjoyable family meal here for 12 of us from Gradnpa to the youngest age 10. We had a set menu with good choices for all. Service could not have been better and this made for a most pleasant evening. We will certainly do this again. It was good value for money as well which made it... More

The food was delicious but the tables were far too close together. Don't wish to hear other people's conversations.

Most of their effort and budget seems to have gone to the (very stylish) decor - the food was average: although very impressively presented, it was fairly bland and unimaginative. The service was attentive but slightly rushed. A lot of style but not much quality for a fairly pricey restaurant.

My wife and I treated our hosts to dinner just after Xmas. We had a nice table near the bar and duly ordered our starters and main courses. The sirloin steak with pepper sauce was fine but was only accompanied by chips (I failed to note, but wasn't reminded that all other vegetables are extra). I consequently requested a mixed... More
