Bustling , busy , attractive restaurant with a relaxed trendy vibe -four of us shared about 10 'plates' of delicious modern Italian food . My Campari spritz was well made and plenty of vegetarian options . Pricing is what I would expect for Central London. It is very busy so I would suggest booking for lunch .

I've been keen to dine at Polpo for a while now and was pleased that I went to experience it however felt somewhat of customer on a conveyer belt. The atmosphere was buzzy and was lucky to get a table of two straight away (arrived at just gone 6pm) however felt that the staff were trying to get through service... More

The lamb meatballs are to die for! Busy but a really cool restaurant, great for a meal before going out on a night in town.

Well I had to try it once and now it's out of my system I will be back to my all time favorite small bites joint Barrica in Goodge street. Really buzzy place, you're pushed and jostled by both servers and customers desperate to pay 5 quid for a very small tasteless plate of Rosemary potatoes. Being a novice to... More

We arrived at 20.15 and were told an hour wait, which we took on board and grabbed a drink at the bar. Whilst at the bar for 2 hours, we watched the woman with the waiting list select whom she would tell they were fully booked to whom she let in saying there would be an hour wait. Then, to... More

We had a fab lunch at Polpo and it is now a firm favourite of ours. The place is tiny, shabby chic and buzzing with oodles of atmosphere. The food is simple, yet delicious and they make fantastic cocktails. We especially enjoyed the martini's. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the zucchini and parmesan salad, roast potatoes... More

Service was truly outstandingly good - thanks Sam and contributed to a very enjoyable meal. The concept is faithfully applied and the individual dishes are all well presented and delicious. It is expensive - particularly the wine and drinks but you do get fresh, tasty food. If it were in Italy, the prices would be scandalous, but it's central London... More

I like Polpo, the wait for a table can be painful & I'm not a 100% sure it's always worth such a long wait but the food is tasty and I have had an enjoyable meal every time I've been here. The tables are very tightly squeezed together so you can pretty much join in the conversation of the people... More

Three of us arrived at Beak Street at 1600 on a Saturday.Place was heaving but lovely civil lady said a table would be about 15-20mins but we were more than welcome to wait at wall bar and have a drink. Doubly glad indeed as not only were the Martinis superb but within 5 mins said lovely lady offered us seats... More

Luckily thanks to other amazing TAs I knew what to expect when a friend suggested we try out Polpo for dinner. It seems like the general consensus is average food and bad service. Service wise I have to say I agree with all of the other reviewers. The service was either in your face 'order now we've got a queue'... More
