On a recent trip to London to meet our Son we decided to take him to a favourite Restaurant of ours Polpo in Soho. It was after the lunchtime rush the staff seemed unwilling to serve customers preferring to congregate at the bar and chat. Once we ordered things got back on track the Miso Frito, mini pizzas, Octopus, and... More

Having been soaked by a massive rainstorm we took shelter in this small restaurant. They have a wide variety of tasty italian small plates. The meatballs are a must, as are the cocktails! Nothing extraordinary but perfect as a pre-theatre meal. Cost us around £75 for two people, with plenty of food and drink!

We dropped in to Polpo as we were passing. It was late afternoon and we were quickly seated on the ground floor at the back of the restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient. The smell of pork meatballs with tomato and fennel sauce being delivered to the table behind was too much and they we're quickly added to our order.... More

We went on a Monday evening and although it was quite busy it had a rather pretentious feel. Sadly the Arancini was rather tasteless and the Salmon Tartare hardly contained any Salmon. The Gnocchi with rabbit was nice & of course filling but the spicy pork and fennel meatballs were a little underwhelming and again lacked taste. The most disappointing... More

This is my new favourite restaurant in London. We had lunch here recently. Choose from a selection of Italian 'Tapas' style dishes great for sharing with the table. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was packed with a good atmosphere. Make sure you save room for deserts, great selection of some Italian classics and not too be missed,... More

This place was lovely - the drinks, particularly the cocktails, were exquisite. I thought it was very good value for the quality of the service, food and wine. Be warned though - you cannot book. I ended up waiting for an hour and a half for a table - but this was ok because they have a bar downstairs where... More

Cute restaurant in Soho with many sharing style dishes. The food was nothing out of the ordinary but the atmosphere and staff made our lunch a fun experience. The meatballs were very tasty as was the braised octopus.

OK, so not being able to book is a pain, and writing the price in words on the menu is rather pretentious...but the service is good, the food excellent and all reasonable value.

I had a lovely lunch a few months ago at Polpo Farringdon a few months ago and so brought a friend there last night. Asked if they did cocktails and was told they did, but when I tried to order a margarita I was refused as it was off-menu - even though the barman had the ingredients and knew how... More

Great place for an informal night out with friends in Soho. The food is ok but not stand-out. The menu is really Italian street food. Good range of cocktails. The real attraction is the dimly lit, stylish room with a loud, buzzy atmosphere. Go before the crowd moves on.
