Description: The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin...
The first UK restaurant to be awarded one, two, and then three Michelin stars, Le Gavroche remains a class apart. Since opening in 1967, this Mayfair bastion of French cuisine has been very much a family affair, and chef-patron Michel Roux Jr continues the tradition today. The elegance of the menu and the ambience is impeccably tailored, while the discreet service has won its own plaudits.

Perfect

It is wonderful to find a restaurant where the food & service are excellent and there is no pretentiousness or pomposity! Meeting Michel Roux was the cherry on top!! Make sure to leave room for the cheeseboard - legendary!

Took our family to Le Gavroche to celebrate daughter & son in law's 07th wedding anniversary. My wife & I had been once before but it was their first time. From the moment you walk through the front door until you leave several hours later, you are treated fantastically well. We had the business lunch, which is exceptional good value... More

After trying for four years to get a table her on a Saturday night we finally succeeded last week. As you would expect the food and the service were exceptional, but surprisingly for me the atmosphere was also nice and relaxed. My wife and I both had the tasting menu which including 2 gin and tonics came to £480

I visited with my husband for lunch to celebrate my birthday. I have tried to book for over a year and booked three months before my birthday as was so keen to visit! Lunch was superb, truly excellent food, wine and service. I also treated myself to one of Michel Roux Jr's cookery books. He came to our table to... More

We came here following the visit for my wife's birthday in January. We chose the menu exceptionale (tasting menu) and can report that it was superb, particularly with the matching wines. Quite simply the best lunch we have ever had with service to match. Thank you.

Elegant classic French restaurant near Grosvenor square. Attentive, unhurried service. Beautiful wine list; prices to match. The food is as good as it gets.

We chose to go for a dinner at 'Le Gavroche' after we had heard how good the food and atmosphere was. Everything we heard was true. From the moment we entered the restaurant till our departure we were treated in the most courteous manners. I had forgotten to take a formal jacket with me but the staff lent me one... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
