Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in...
This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

Super night

We have dined here several times before and it never fails to delight. Late booking 9.30 pm on a Saturday despite that, the restaurant was full and the atmosphere lively and very buzzy. The menu doesn't change a great deal but I feel there is a wide choice on offer to suit most people. We were... read more

I was taken to the restaurant as a birthday surprise for a pre theatre dinner. The food was sublime . They even piped Happy Birthday in chocolate on my delicious dessert. It was a wonderful dinner which will be a wonderful memory. Thank you to the friendly professional helpful staff and the brilliant chefs who cooked the meal .

After carefully choosing Le Caprice for my mothers 80th Birthday lunch for our family special celebration we came away disappointed. Firstly we had a young child of 8 with us, no children's menu available. She asked for a prawn cocktail , response ' we don't do it' next she asked for a fillet steak, response ' only rib eye' she... Found this great restaurant by accident several years ago when my wife and I were staying at the St. James Club and Hotel. We go back to London every year and Le Caprice is always one of our stops. Our most recent was Tuesday February 17th when we walked in for lunch and had not made reservations- They had room... More

This is one of the most famous restaurants in London, but in our opinion, it does not live off of its reputation, but rather off the impeccable service and great food, both in terms of choice and taste. It obviously comes at a price, but you can do worse things that to spend your money here! The attention to detail... More

A sister restaurant to The Ivy, tucked away behind The Ritz Hotel, La Caprice serves brilliant food in a sophisticated environment. We love this place.

very light and airy restaurant with a nice ambience and all tables full during the lunchtime I visited. I had an excellent Sushimi dish to start followed by an equally good Octopus dish. food was of high quality and presented really well. Reasonably priced for this area of London also. Service was very efficient but also friendly.

A warm welcome, interesting menu, excellently cooked food. We were not rushed, or patronised. A thoroughly good lunch party and we look forward to returning soon.

Neighborhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
