Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Reservations, Late Night
Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

Food, service and atmosphere as good as ever in this very unpretentious but classy restaurant. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and, although the restaurant didn't know it was a special occasion, the eagle eyed waiter noticed her opening a gift and presented her with a dish of truffles with a birthday greeting in chocolate. The service is attentive without... More

I booked as part of a theatre deal and thought that it would probably be a watered down version of their usual menu. I was wrong. The dishes was straight from their normal menu, with some nice vegeterian options. The food was amazing. Only criticism is that the service was very slow, but the atmosphere and cocktails were great and... More

We were a party of 8 and had a lovely round table. Decor is 1920's style. Food was very good. Our party ordered a variety of dishes over 3 courses and all were enjoyed. Service was excellent very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend

I first went to Le Caprice 25 years ago, and was blown away by the effortless classy style of this restaurant tucked away behind The Ritz. Well I have been going back (all too infrequently!) since and it has maintained its cool, classy style ever since. The food is relatively simple French cuisine, cooked perfectly. The service is impeccable and... More

I love this place. If you can't get a table you can often get a seat at the bar at short notice and that's ok with me - the menu is the same and the food is just as good no matter where you sit. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is simple but great. The venison... More

My only criticism of Le Caprice is that, on the day of the reservation, they phoned my host to say that they could no longer accommodate us at 13.00 hrs, the time for which the reservation had been made, and that they had put it back to 13.30. My host was unable to contact me to advise me of this.... More

We visited Le Caprice midweek to send our friend off on her South American travels as a treat. Upon arrival the door staff were prompt in welcoming us and opening the car doors, however the front of house team were not so quick in checking us in. Our table wasn't ready so we were left at the bar for some... More
