Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

Last night was not my first trip and it will definately not be my last. Interesting modern menu with good old favourites (fish and chips, steak tartare etc) as well as dishes with a modern twist. Something for all tastes here. Service is professional and sleek whilst not intrusive. Lovely vibe to the restaurant cannot wait to return.

Food was excellent, staff were attentive but not stifling, restaurant layout is well considered and the whole package give you a great overall dining experience. There were two of us for dinner, both agreed that the menu offered enough choice without being over the top. We were both very happy with everything and the bill was perfectly reasonable for a... Came here with my father-in-law to try the weekend brunch menu with live piano player. First thing that I noticed is that it's very noisy, not just due to the piano but also just packed with people. This isn't the fault of the restaurant and some would enjoy the buzzy vibe. I ordered the the shrimp, avocado, crispy bacon and... More

Simply fantastic in every regard, food, service, atmosphere, surroundings, everything! On this weekend way this was one of three nice meals we had (Dinner at Clarke's in Kensington and Lunch at Cafe Florian in Harrods were the other two) and this meal, at Le Caprice, was the stand-out one for me, although Clarke's came a very close second. Le Caprice,... More

I can't normally be bothered to go to posh places these days, but a friend invited me for lunch at Le Caprice and it was a delight. Started with the perfect Bellini, then a delicious beetroot and goat's cheese salad followed by a lovely chicken Milanese with green salad. Finished with a coffee and yummy Florentines. Professional, understated service and... More

Went today to Le Caprice for a late lunch and we were really disappointed. The food was ok, no better, no worse. But the staff just seemed that they could not be bothered. Admittedly it was a late lunch and the staff were doing the handover, but if they can't cope with late lunches/early suppers, then they should close for... More

My experience at Le Caprice started great and ended with wonderful. From the darling coat check person who helped me, to the host, to the bartender...everything was excellent. The service was impeccable and the food was very good. The overall atmosphere was very welcoming and while I was dining on my own that night, I struck up a charming conversation... More

Warm greeting, atmosphere generated by unobtrusive piano. Equistely cooked classic dishes with modern twist. Excellent eclectic wine list. Discreet service. Got a little noisy at one point. Third visit no let downs. I look forwards to the next visit.

We had an early booking prior to going to the theatre. We chose from the a la carte menu. The food was fantastic. We had the calves liver and the guinea fowl for main. All came with potatoes and veg and was both tasty and perfectly cooked. We then ordered a chocolate fondant to share. It took quite a while... More
