Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

We took our daughter for her 21st dinner en famille. We had a delicious dinner with suitably charming service! It is such an establishment that our 18 yr old son noted he was the only sub 21yr old there. Across our meals no slip ups- notables were the crab linguini, the steak and the desserts! Recommended for a solid, safe... More

Really great atmosphere for Sunday Brunch. Very efficient and professional service, terrific brunch menu, great bloody Marys and really delicious food. Not over priced either considering the quality and reputation of the restaurant. Really good.

Very pleasant lunch of squid with chorizo, followed by fish and chips. Pichet of rose, a very nice lunch indeed. Companion had a crab salad which was lovely. One of the nicest interiors in London. Very expensive for what it is, but utterly dependable. very expensive wine list -- PLEASE can you think more creatively, reduce your prices and sell... More

From the greeting on arrival to the final goodbye the staff were very professional and attentive without being intrusively over friendly. The menu is interesting and varied and the food delicious. Booking is essential as on my three visits the restaurant has always been full. All tables appeared to have a minimum of four diners and often more so the... More

Booked it for a bit of a treat and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful decor, excellent service, nice atmosphere, made to feel special. All three courses very good. Wine list had a decent range. Great jazz trio playing. Menu has plenty things not out of place at Savoy or Ritz but also a burger and some version of fish and chips. I... More

Very good location; tables sufficiently distant from one another and background noise level sufficiently high to allow good and yet discrete discussions; very good food, even if not the lightest Italian food I have tried in London. Very good place for lunch and business discussion. I would go back for the salad mixing fruit, cheese, and salad.
