Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Reservations, Late Night
Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

We booked 'the bar' thinking it was in the bar area but it was in fact AT the bar! Having said that, I'm glad we did as it was great. The service and food were both very good. I was expecting it to be expensive, but I thought it was very reasonable. We only had burgers but they were fantastic.... More

Went last night for dinner with my wife and had the best time. Food is fantastic, staff very accommodating and even though they couldn't act my booking request to convert the bar counter table to a regular table on the night, they did bring out dessert with 'Happy Birthday' scrolled across the dish in chocolate sauce. A nice touch to... More

I've been to Le Caprice several times now and have always been impressed, but this occasion was perfection from start to finish. The staff are just marvellous, and we were made to feel very special indeed by attentive, friendly and informative people throughout the evening. The food was excellent. Not only do plates look attractive, but meats and seafood are... More

I dislike the 2GBP cover charge and the tables were close together - noisy The food was good, but pricey. There are better choices.

We visited Le Caprice last Saturday with friends. We were a group of ten in London for the weekend celebrating a special birthday for one of our friends. The food was wonderful, I had the Thai sea bass, wonderful flavours and cooked to perfection. It will be challenging to find a restaurant serving a better sea bass. All of the... More

It has been three years since our last wonderful dinner here. It is a favourite of our kids which made it an easy choice for dinner this weekend. The atmosphere is lovely, art nouveau with a Manhattan twist. A pianist provides soothing background music that does not interfere with conversation. The menu offers something for every taste. For me, it... More

Went on a friend's recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Good date night, located in heart of Mayfair near the Ritz hotel. Go to the Ritz bar for a drink first, and then stroll a couple of blocks to Le Caprice. It has outdoor seating but the views aren't anything notable, so we stayed inside.

Our choice for "before the theater" dinner, Caprice offered a fixed price option for lighter food. Note that we had to ask for this option as they were inclined to offer only their regular menu. But the food was excellent in quantity and quality.

Two of us sat at the bar for dinner on a Saturday night. It was quite lively with a full restaurant and piano playing. We didn't have a reservation but they did everything they could to accommodate us. We had the duck and watermelon salad which was heavenly, with a glass of their most expensive champagne by the glass. Then... More
