Description: This Green Park institution was a hit when it first opened its doors in 1947 and since then it has remained a favourite amongst Londons dining elite. The interior is similarly timeless, with a warm neutral colour scheme, monochrome photographs, and a popular bar that runs the length of the restaurant to ensure that solo diners or last-minute latecomers have somewhere to perch. Like its sister restaurant, The Ivy, its ideal for business lunches, romantic liaisons and special occasions alike. The menu showcases modern European favourites, presented with flair but without fuss, and includes classic dishes like Salmon fishcake with buttered spinach sorrel sauce; Bannockburn rib steak with Barnaise sauce; and dressed Dorset crab. An extensive wine list and flawless service completes the picture and makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

Pre-theatre dinner on a Summer evening - outside corner table and fixed price selection. Food was very good, tomatoe and goats cheese tart, crispy duck salad startes and pork belly & hake mains. Wines are available by the half litre carafe but even with a fixed price menu drinks prices and a 12.5% service charge mean that it will never... More

It's always a pleasure to revisit an old favourite and find that its as superb as ever. I had lunch here last week, entering the discrete entrance at the end of Arlington Street to be greeted by friendly faces and shown quickly to my table. Starter of char grilled octopus (superb with Chorizo and Padron peppers) and main of easy-to-screw-up... More

Second visit this year and this time as a foursome with daughter and son-in-law to be. Service and food could not be faulted and we found the 2-hour allocated slot at 1900 to be unrushed.

Tucked away behind The Ritz Hotel this was a most pleasurable experience from the moment we entered this restaurant to the minute we had to leave. Service of the highest quality with food to match.....2 hours of bliss...not one thing could be faulted and although it was a price you maybe cannot afford every day it was worth every penny.... I love this place! It suits being busy as it gives it a great atmosphere. Service is in no way compromised - its excellent; speedy and professional and the order is always correct. The wine list is very good with some nice unusual finds and the menu choice very very good indeed. The quality of the food is always very... More

We chose to dine at Le Caprice based on recommendations of several friends and the proximity to our hotel. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in many years. The greeting was welcoming and friendly. The service was excellent and the meal superb. The space is very attractive and laid out in a way that makes... More

The Le Caprice Bar is by far nicer than the tables. Shiny Black Decor, interaction with the Bar staff and lovely food. Starter was Grilled scallops in their shells, beautifully tender and sweet. Mains were Lobster spaghettina and Duck breast with foie gras(just wonderful)...Go..you wont be disappointed !

We went there for Fathers Day and I had the rack of lamb. Prepared just as I had ordered it, it was excellent! The deserts were awesome as well. The staff was friendly, music and ambience was perfect for a special night out!

Had a lunchtime visit with family as we were nearby. Decided to just have a drink instead, as the place was so very noisy. There was a very good pianist playing, but it was at listening volume, not background sound. Bit deafening with all the other noise going on. This used to be a super place, but we felt it... More

We went for diner at the Caprice and had a great moment. Even if the restaurant seems crowded at the first look, we were seated very comfortably and the service was excellent. The food was great with a large choice of courses and cocktails for aperitif. We recommend this great restaurant.
