I went for dinner with my colleague from NY who have told me that it's one of his favoruite places. When we got there we started with drinks in the entry and right after we've finished we had lovely table in the center of the place. there are two options of set menus, i went for the 3 courses. the... I travel to London for business, I try to treat myself to dinner here in my own and with friends whenever possible. On a quiet side street in an exclusive residential enclave, it's like a mirage of elegant sophistication. The A la carte and tasting menus have always surprised and delighted. The service is flawless; knowledgeable, friendly and the perfect... More

Food was excellent with the Quail particularly standing out. Staff friendly and very informative on food and wine. Just right amount of attention. We will visit again.

Little bit overrated - BalooDined 3 days ago The food was good and nearly very good, but not in relation to the price and the Michelin star reputation. But shocking are the rather seriously overrated prices for the wines... I noticed some at triple price compared with other good restaurants and double price as in similar rated restaurants on the... First of all, yes, this restaurant is beautiful. Located in a great area of South Kensington; quite place. Staff was polite but service was not the best. We went on a Saturday, so we had a fixed menu. Food was good, but not the best. Some dishes were complex (flavor wise) and had beautiful combinations. But some were disappointing. Food... More

....but expected more. Great ambiance, attentive service as expected for that price range, good food but not exceptional. Had the tasting menu.....food was probably a little "too busy" for our liking. Although pleased we went wouldn't rush back in a hurry. Lots of better places when spending that type of money.

I simply love this place and have recommended it to so many friends and family. It is tucked away from the noise of a lot of London restaurants and feels like you've come upon a little secret. The staff were all very welcoming and professional. The service was exemplary and the food was incredible. It's such a relaxed atmosphere that... More

Launceston Place is, as always, a guarantee for a fine dinner in London. An excellent service, always attentive to customer needs, but above all an exceptionally sweet. The place demands a refined dress; price is quite high but worth them all. if I have to find fault, I admit that wines are valid but perhaps overly expensive.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
