Best and prettiest salad we had on our trip- a bit of a walk from the tube but near a bus stop. Good place to go before seeing a play by the globe theatre although you still need to take a short bus ride to get to your play.

Helpful and caring staff, excellent food - tasty and good quality ( i had lamb). It was a bit difficult to find, no big signs and I had some issues with WIFI (bad weather was blaimed:-)

I had an early dinner and happily spent hours sitting and eating the most delicious and beautifully presented food with wonderful choices music from another era in the background. The waiters were attentive and friendly. I will be returning again and again, guaranteed! Great for any occasion as going there IS an occasion!

What a gem the Laughing Gravy restaurant turned out to be! Brilliant welcome followed by superb service while managing to sustain a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent range of dishes on the menu that didn't disappoint when they arrived on the table. Food is delightful in presentation and more importantly flavour. A popular venue that creates a great atmosphere without impeding service... More

Top notch British food. The beetroot starter was a revelation (seriously!). The salted caramel pudding is as fab as other reviewers have said. We enjoyed venison, plaice and beef. Really nice staff. Chilled atmosphere. Gets busy but when we were there everything was under control. Good to find an alternative to the very good Baltic nearby in this rather unexciting... More

Food is really something and memorable... Ambience is great. Staff are efficient but for the scale of the service charge could be just a little warmer / engaging... No matter though it was a good surprise and I would recommend it fully!

The Laughing Gravy is such a great little gem just two blocks from the Southwark tube station. We are from Los Angeles and would love to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. If you are in London, be sure to give this place a try. It's definitely a winner!

I cannot praise this place enough, the food is amazing! The staff are lovely, very helpful and chatty, if you want some advice. The menu is totally mouth-watering, I was nearly spoilt for choice and as a vegetarian that doesn't happen very often. All the meals looked great though and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a shame... More

The restaurant itself is somewhat enigmatic. It's a sort of cross between a gourmet venue, a trendy local cafe and an art bar, without really committing to any of them. So the wine list quickly becomes stratospheric, the menu dishes are very...adventurous ("Venison fillet and wild mushroom Wellington with tender stem broccoli and horseradish, white truffle celeriac puree and scattered... A very good Sunday roast served politely and in pleasant surroundings. Decent value as well considering location which is minutes walk from Southwark tube station and just a little further from Waterloo. Would definitely consider a return for dinner.
