To dinner with friends... and what a dinner! Halfway down Blackfriars Road, tucked behind some scaffolding is probably one of the finest restaurants in South London (but its only just South London). Take a tube to Southwark and after a couple of minutes walking you are sitting in the most wonderful restaurant. Attentive staff, inventive cooking and a reasonable but... More

Booked a table to come here on the Friday night with my Mum, it was pretty busy but got a cosy little table in the corner by the piano. Pork belly for starters which was beautifully presented & tasted delicious & then a beefburger & smoked haddock fishcake respectively for mains. Staff were really friendly & didn't try to rush... Walked in to this lovely establishment on a dark damp London evening. From walking through the door the surroundings were warm and welcoming as were the lovely bar staff who greeted us. We were having an anniversary meal and even though I'm sure the staff see people enjoying a celebration regularly it certainly felt we were unique. The owner showed us to... More

We had booked to celebrate my fathers birthday and wanted somewhere we could walk to after visiting the IWM. I was hoping for the food to be good but it was excellent. Every dish we had was superb, beautifully presented and the flavors were just amazing. We had the burger, steak and turbot. My turbot has to be one of... More

Visited for my friends birthday meal. Table was booked for 6:45pm. The restaurant was smart looking and we had great expectations. Upon arrival, I visited the female toilets. They were disgusting. The handle was coming off, there was dust on the back of the seat and the ledge above the toilet. There was even a hair ball. I dread to... More

Thank you for your feedback. I am really sorry to hear that your experience of my restaurant was not the best if could have been. We work really hard to make sure every diner leaves happy and I am sorry that did not happen on this occasion. We are very used to dealing with customers' allergies and requirements - we... More

I avoided researching the restaurant before my birthday meal with my family in order to keep an element of surprise. Even if I did the restaurant, food and service would have surpassed my expectations. I started with the scallop scotch egg and had the venison Wellington for my main course. Both we're truly excellent. The only criticism was that the... More

After reading the great trip advisors I chose this place to eat... Staff we're lovely, atmosphere was great, food was standard, prices were expensive, we were disappointed with the lack of choice on the menu and ended up eating burgers which were totally over priced! Dessert was good but again over priced. Wouldn't eat here again.... Unless it was a... More

I chose the Laughing Gravy for a Sunday Roast during a recent five day stay in London. Loved the atmosphere and design of the restaurant as soon as I walked through the door. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and funny throughout and the food lovely, especially the crumble I was persuaded to have for dessert! . Really enjoyed... More
