The Laughing Gravy is one of those gems. A small pub-style restaurant located just a stone’s throw away from Southwark tube station offers a really delicious British food for affordable prices. Beetroot cooked in three different ways was a pleasant refreshing starter. Followed by an absolutely divine Sunday roast: tender meat marinated in Kernel Porter beer served with a lovely... More

A truly memorable meal. The starters were tasty but quite tiny. The highlight was the venison wellington, which all of us chose, and enjoyed. The food was well presented, unusual and thoroughly enjoyed. The service was attentive, friendly and helpful - Frankie was a really great waitress. Only minor gripes: table water was £3.50 per bottle, whereas a jug of... More

Thank you for the feedback and the lovely review. Just to say, we do always offer bottled or iced tap water to tables and have jugs of tap water on hand for anyone who wants. More

Stayed in Southwark on a weekend in London and this restaurant was a true find. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the best food. The seafood scotch egg and sea bass was to die for. My wife also raved about the beetroot starter and macaroni cheese. We shared the delicious salted fudge for dessert. Definitely worth a vist. My only gripe... More

My wife and I were visiting from Montreal. Great find near the Old Vic, Tate Modern and The South Bank. We loved the ambiance. The owner and staff were warm and friendly and made us feel really welcome. We had a drink in the attractive bar area first on comfy chairs and then went into the cozy restaurant behind it.... More

This place has a very unimpressive location. The interior is very warm and cozy. The burger was good, and it is nice to be served still water from a pitcher instead of being charged for something that should be free. The service was amazing, the young servers were friendly yet unobtrusive, quick, overall lovely and approachable. Note to management: it... More

We did not have a reservation but the wait staff was able to accomodate us. It was our last night in London and we wanted a simple, relaxed meal. Our server was very friendly, food and drinks were served efficiently. Wouod visit again!
