I visited Laughing Gravy for the first time a couple of years ago and was delighted when my partner said he was taking me there again for my birthday meal. When we arrived (early) our table wasn't ready so room was made at the bar and we ordered cocktails: I had the elderflower mojito and my partner had the cucumber... More

We chose this restaurant due to it's location and great reviews and were not disappointed. The first thing we noticed was how busy it was, usually a good sign. The service was quick and friendly without being overly so. The food was great. There is lots of variety and the menu is creative. There are no 'standard' British meals here.... More

After reading good reviews of this place, we wanted to give it a try on the last night of our London trip. We didn't make reservations as we kind of decided last minute and it was a weekday. Although listed as a bar and restaurant, I would consider this place more of a restaurant than a bar. They have a... More

Had a quick but excellent dinner at this well-managed restaurant/bar just 5-10 mins walk from Waterloo station. I had a fantastic venison Wellington, brilliantly cooked and presented, served with a few sprigs of brocolli and perfectly cooked roasted vegetables. Staff were polite, accommodating and attentive. Bill was reasonable, so all-in-all, a great experience. Recommend.

We arrived late and as such had a short dinner experience. However, the food was superb, and the service friendly and attentive.

So we ended up at the laughing gravy after a power cut meant we couldn't go to our original reservations elsewhere, we were very hungry but desperate for something special as we were on a date, everything we had blew us away, and the bill was only £115 -not bad as it included 3 courses, a great bottle of wine... I wanted to find somewhere good to eat near to the Old Vic Theatre and when I came across this restaurant on Tripadvisor, I was impressed and so gave it a go. I had the beetroot and goat's cheese to start and I have to say it was the prettiest dish I have ever eaten. I'm not one for taking... More

In a city full of restaurants high on promise but short on delivery, I really like The Laughing Gravy. You want to love it for the name alone, but the food and service are great too. Top marks especially for great veggie fare (my partner was v impressed), the milk jam ice cream, and a much needed Bloody Mary. Definitely... More

Ok - take me with a grain of salt if necessary. I'm not high on British food generally. We were underwhelmed our entire trip, so I was hoping to be surprised by Laughing Gravy based on reviews. It was certainly the best English food we had during our 5-day trip, but definitely not blown away. Our service was a bit... More

We went to The Laughing Gravy with friends on New Year's Eve, none of us had been here before but had heard good things on the Grapevine. We were not disappointed, great food with excellent service on what must have been one of their busiest nights. A lovely relaxed atmosphere, we were dressed for the weather rather than being glammed... More
