The best hidden secret in London

This is the 5th time I have been in London. I am very familiar with many areas and neighborhoods. But anything south of the Thames is unexplored territory. A very pleasant Sunday lunch. A high end restaurant in terms of food, service, atmosphere, without pretense. Everything we tried was excellent. Fish, meat, roasts. Service was friendly, warm while fast and professional. Though no what you call Central London, very easily approachable by underground. Though fully booked and busy, all moved smoothly. Well, maybe with the exception of myself... More

We visited The laughing Gravy on Monday 23rd March. We booked a table for 7.00pm and I am glad we did as it was busy. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and allowed us enough time to peruse the menu, which is not extensive but has a lovely choice of meals. I opted for the roasted cauliflower and three cheese macaroni... More

Food was excellent. The service ruined the entire experience. We dined at this spot after a day of shopping and were practically ignored the entire time. Drinks were not refilled, items that were ordered were not delivered and the bill was completely inaccurate. Great food can never save terrible service.

Had lunch there with a good friend just before Christmas. It's a refreshing change ...we were given a table by a piano. Lively atmosphere, good food and service. I would go again particularly (but not only) because there isn't much else of similar quality in that part of London. It's convenient for the gallery with the Bomberg's and also the... More

Me and my girlfriend visited this lovely gastropub for a Sunday roast on the 15th. Everyone was very lovely and promptly we were seated, just in time for my reservation. We started with the scallops and crayfish scotch egg which was delicious. Then i ate the angus beef and my partner the lamb rump. Both very nice but the lamb... More

We booked the Laughing Gravy for our anniversary meal on strength of Trip Advisor reviews. Well, this was an example of Trip Advisor working at its best. There is no way on earth I'd know about this restaurant if I hadn't read the great feedback - now that I have, I'm a massive fan plotting my next visit here. Walking... More

I certainly had the best British food I have ever had in London. Reasonable prices, very good service, excellent vine and cocktails. I will definetly come back!

We mistakenly booked for the wrong date online and staff were more than happy to accommodate us, even though it was very busy. Food was delicious, lovely atmosphere and beautifully furnished.

Exceptionally nice and interesting food, friendly staff and good ambience. We've been here 3 or 4 times and never been disappointed.
