Pre Theatre lunch date

Lovely Oyster bar with fantastic service. We had the Dungarvan Oysters which were sublime upon the recommendation of the waiter. Their Tapas style lunch menu is a great follow on from oysters to start. Would definitely go back.

I love the 1940s feel about this place. I would however be more inclined to enjoy a drink in the bar than eat at the restaurant. I went for a work dinner and found the presentation of the food to be quite unspectacular. Shrimp burger and hake in particular need improvement. But the frozen berries in white hot chocolate sauce... More

We popped in here to dine before seeing a show at the Noel Coward Theatre. We had not booked, but managed to get a table in the bar area. As we were short on time, we decided to select some dishes to share as a 'Seafood Tapas' selection. All dishes were well executed and tasted divine. To finish off we... More

Came here for dinner, and was impressed with the decor once inside, which looks likes it's from another glamorous era. There is a cover charge of £2 per person, and a £12.5% service charge on the total amount. I had the crab bisque (£8.50) to start which was delicious, full of flavour and fresh crab. Hubby had the potted shrimp... More

I've just written two very modest reviews of other restaurants, but here are a couple of paragraphs of undiluted praise. I took a small birthday party to the Oyster Bar (there's a restaurant section as well) for dinner before a late show. Sheekey's can be very expensive as the menu is very tempting, but if you walk through it carefully... More

We have passed by this restaurant on previous London trips and, on this occasion, decided to take the plunge. The menu has some very traditional choices and we all went for the Dover sole and tuna tartare. Service is excellent and the decor quite pleasing. Our one caveat is that the tables in the restaurant section are very close by... More

One of my favourite places. Superb location, friendly staff and excellent food. Another great early supper: bass ceviche with a bit of a kick and perfectly cooked red mullet. The emphasis is obviously seafood, but do not forget the often interesting and unusual desserts-this time a blush peach pavlova.

Hadn't been here for years. Only booked because I couldn't get a decently timed table anywhere else. Thus I approached with slight intrepidation. Soon as I walked through the door all fears were blown away. Service was class throughout including the cloakroom. Fantastic mix of punters from established regulars to eager youngsters and people on business smashing the lobster fruit... More

The Oyster Bar does not offer a specific pre-theatre menu but there is plenty of choice of both small plates and more substantial dishes including seasonal specials. We particularly enjoyed the crab bisque and the squid. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. It is probably best to reserve a table if you are on a tight time schedule.

It's recommence by a friend and I am not disappointed. The menu was mostly seafood, simple and just what I want. The wine list was good too I went for lunch in between my city tours. The oysters and crab bisque were amazing! I also ordered razor clams which was fresh. The razor clam was cooked with chorizo in Spanish... More
