We went to Hawksmoor in Spitalfields recently after hearing good things and overall we were not disappointed. Upon entry the small lobby is smart and staff will take your coat. When you pass through the double doors the atmosphere changes and is casual, laid back and almost pub-like. The food here is uncomplicated and is very good. The steak was... More

Great restaurant for meat lovers. We dined here as a party of 6 on Saturday evening. We had a drink downstairs first where the staff were really friendly and even managed to get a table for us all together to enjoy a cocktail before heading back up the the stairs for dinner. The atmosphere in the main restaurant is relaxed and... My wife and I had lunch here Tuesday, i had an excellent fillet steak and my wife the beet root salad as a main, both were good portion sizes and very tasty! We've eaten in a couple of the hawksmoors and it's always a good experience, if I had one minor bit of constructive feedback the devilled broccoli was not... More

We came here for our anniversary dinner and I have to say we left somewhat disappointed. I started my meal with half a lobster, which must have been the smallest legal permissible size, my partner with what were actually nice scallops. We both had steak, mine fillet, his ribeye and shared two sides. The quality of the meat was good,... More

Visited with family to celebrate a birthday. Great surroundings, service, drinks and of course food. A must for a special occasion.

Having heard so many good reviews about this restaurant and seeing Time Out rate it as the best steak in London, I was sure to go and check it out myself. I decided to go to the Spitalfields one as this was closest to me and upon arrival you are greeted very happily and your coat and bag are then... More

Understated, great ambiance, if perhaps a little too cosy for some. A friend and I arrived without a reservation on a Wednesday night, so they seated us at the bar. Worked out pretty fine for us, easy going, friendly and helpful barman. Very nice local ale (the name escapes me now), but wow, great quality meat. We shared a 700g... More

I have been to this particular restaurant for business, a mid week dinner and sunday lunch. It is always very good and the roast beef on a sunday is really good. I just don't think the steak is as good as Goodmans but is definitely better than gaucho. Will return, preferably for sunday lunch!

Upon arriving at the Hawksmoor I was not initially impressed due to the fact that my party of 3 were sitting a couple of metres away from the door and a little bit further away from everyone else, which I do not like as I believe this lacks atmosphere - although this was not a big deal. The steak, as... More

Celebrated my birthday with Sunday lunch at Hawksmoor and what a wonderful time we had. Delicious rib of beef, cooked to perfection with all the trimmings, extra gravy and crispy roasties. The puddings were very good, drinks perfect and charming attentive service from all staff bar man - coat check - waiter. Thanks - we'll be back.
