The atmosphere was nice but the ventilation was not quite as good. You could smell burnt meat at every corner. The service was good and the guys were friendly. What made me a big impression though was the fact that we ordered porterhouse for two (full of fat), some chips and mushrooms, no starters and only two glasses of wine... More

Very nice steak, brilliant service and a nice atmosphere (we went early evening to avoid the crowds). Yes it is a little pricey but the meat quality, ambience and service justify the bill.

I booked this restaurant on TA recommendations and was not disappointed! This is not a fancy all front, celebrity chef style restaurant but a quint casual restaurant in a different part of London. We stayed at the nearby fab Hoxton Hotel and also dined there the night previous and as we were celebrating a special occasion we chose this restaurant... More

Very highly recommended, everything was as high standard as you would expect. Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting how each cut should be cooked to obtain the best flavour. The buttered spinach was awesome, I could have eaten another pot for desert! All in all a very nice experience in great surroundings.

Booked here for 5pm on a sat night. Felt initially maybe I didn't need to as it was early, but I'm glad I did as the place was quite busy. There were two of us and initially thought about the cheaper express menu but reconsidered when we saw the other options available!! I had the sirloin on the bone MR... More

Porterhouse steak undercooked and overpriced for meat quality. small side dishes. nice setting , friendly staff but at £80 per head would expect better.

We went as a birthday treat at 5pm on a Monday and brought our own champagne (at only £5 corkage charge and with which we were nicely topped up all evening). Staff were effusive and delighted when asked if we could take home the marrow bones in a doggy bag for our, eh, dog. Complimentary chocs and a plate with... More

A birthday/Christmas present from my partner's daughter, we had a superb meal in convivial surroundings - although I'm very glad I wasn't paying the bill! Service was really good - knowledgeable staff who helped us choose the right things for us. That comes at a price - so, if you're looking for vfm rather than quality, don't go here.

I've never had a bad meal at a Hawksmoor restaurant. Of the 3 locations I've used in London, this would be my favourite, the staff were extra friendly, let us try the wines before choosing and were generally helpful in every way. Needless to say, the steaks were first class and so were the sides. The whole party had nothing... More
