Interesting

The idea of a sophisticated fish and chips is interesting. They have nice starters and nice atmosphere. There is choice of three fishes for the fish and chips. Nice mushy peas and side dishes. Very nice fish pie. The service is good and the staff is kind. The location is convenient near the tube of... read more

I had quite a good fish and chips at that place. The batter was crispy. You can choose between cod, haddock and plaice. My wife had the haddock and I had the plaice. Both were good. Fries were okay. Limited selection of beers.

We had been told they had the best fish and chips. The fish was a big serving and they were tasty. However, I found there was too much batter, and very oily. Maybe I'm just not a fish and chips person!

Had lunch with a colleague today, and the staff could not have been more charming. The ambience was great, and the menu had some interesting twists on old classics. The fish pie is particularly highly recommended.

We have eaten many times at the Notting Hill branch because it's convenient and the food is excellent Unfortunately Saturday night was a bit of a disaster. Largely caused by abysmal service and an inattentive chef. Having taken our order they ran out of the special at 7.20 pm, it took 10 additional minutes to reorder alternative specials because the... I was walking around notting hill when in a tiny street I found in a corner this lovely restaurant. The restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated straight away. The waiter recommended us a bream off the specials which was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend if your ever in notting hill please go and try it out. We... More

Lackluster service, staff gave the impression that they would rather be elsewhere. The waiter took our order so quickly that we did not get a chance to order any sides. No ketchup or mayo offered with the fish and chips and it took a while to get someone's attention to ask for it. It took several attempts to get the... More

booking on line we arrived at 6pm (as the site only allowed this early time) however upon arrival at 5.55 pm the restaurant was in darkness and still closed - Having gone around the corner to the pub we returned at 6.15pm to be the first in the restaurant. Two other parties arrived shortly after - the greeter/waiter was very... More

A well-traveled American friend introduced us to Geales for our first real Fish & Chips experience. We've been back many many times to introduce our guests and visitors to the same. Perfectly battered fish & chips options, ideally priced in a beautiful and comfortable setting near Portabello Market. The staff and chef treat our toddler with love each visit. A... More

My boyfriend and I visited Geales last night for our anniversary, what a fantastic evening! We shared some mussels and the cornish crab for starters which were very tasty. We opted for the 'Surf & Turf' for main course which was to die for, the lobster was delicious and fresh and the steak was cooked to perfection. The friendly, attentive... More
