...what they are! They offer average food, but they are pretty good with their fancy cocktails. If I would rate the restaurant, it's 2/3 stars, but I like G&S as bar/club (say 3/4 stars). I went there for dinner 2 or 3 times, and I always found the food quality quite low (also because of the raw ingredients), as well... More

Used to love Garlic and Shots. Now appears to be staffed by surly teenagers who suffer from Alzheimer's. Ordered 2 bloodshots, a garlic beer, white wine and garlic pops. Got San Miguel and the garlic pops. Service was painfully slow. The two waiters were too busy chatting away in Swedish to each other and practising being mean and moody, We... More

The food was great as were some of the shots but the service was terrible. They couldn't have gone any slower. One of our group didn't get their food until some of us had already finished ours. I was brought the wrong drink but was given it for free as I accepted the drink instead of waiting another 30 minutes... More

The first impression i get is that this bar holds a secret of some kind. Its not great food or service thats for sure. The staff have a air about them. Superiority, maybe, arrogance possibly, rude defiantly. I get the impression this bar does well with an unground scene and so therefore treats anyone else with a 'couldn't give a... More

I went with four girls and we ordered jug of tap water (washes down the garlic well!) and one glass of Garlic beer to try between us. This was weird in that it was literally beer with chopped garlic pieces so you had to chew it before swallowing. We ordered starters, to share and a main each. The potato skins... More

I'd always wanted to try this place as it looks quirky and I love garlic. The outside seating area seemed quirky and different, but for the prices charged on drinks and food, one would expect it a little less run-down. I ordered the meatballs which were fine - not the best meat in the world, but tasty enough. My two... More

Food - really very garlicky, almost a bit too much, and a little too much of the raw / acrid garlic flavour and now enough of the creamy cooked / roasted flavour. Thought the garlic beer would be neat but was just diced garlic floating in beer - nothing special. Value - fairly pricey for what you got, with mains... More

The bar its self was quite cool. Quirky (slightly dirty) little place. The first impression from the door was good but that went down hill rapidly. The guy behind the bar, thick set oriental looking guy could not have been ruder and annoyed me instantly with his attitude. We were having a lovely night so sat down and ordered food.... More

10 of us from varying social backgrounds had a night out, this being our second stop. We lucked out and got the strange little dungeon room on the bottom floor and enjoyed beer and shots by candlelight. They have a list of 101 shots. We sampled a selection of them. We really enjoyed ourselves there.

What to say about Garlic and Shots? Overview: Smelly, dirty dungeon with bar staff (/waiters?) more offensive than the stench. Loads of shots on the menu, a huge proportion of which are like drinking a liquidised bulb of garlic. Food: Portions small and overpriced. Opted for the 'XXX HOT chilli' which was 2 teaspoons of shredded grey meat with no... More
