Description: The Engineer is a relaxed, friendly neighborhood Dining Pub that has built its reputation for Organic, responsibly sourced food over the last fifteen years. With a beautiful restaurant, courtyard for summer dining, and function rooms available for hire, The Engineer is the perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy some serious food and drink in very un-serious surroundings. The food is an eclectic mix of super-fresh, well sourced ingredients influenced by many cuisine types and all made on the premises. There is an equally interesting 120+ bin wine list available too; focusing on small boutique producers in interesting places, organic and bio-dynamic wines and exceptional value for money.

We went for lunch, nothing exotic: a burger and sausages & mash. At £14 a plate I would have expected the the quality of the meat to have been higher. And the garden at the rear is looking very tired. Next time we will go to the Albert.

A little bit on the expensive side but overall so nice and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.

Has a good choice of drinks on draft and a lovely internal setting with quirky light shades and gorgeous flower arrangments. I kept thinking Hugh Grant would come in as felt like I was on the Notting Hill film set.

We booked an area in the garden for casual, post-wedding drinks at the beginning of the month. We chose this pub as they were child-friendly and had a lovely area at the rear of the garden under a canopy of white flowers. The perfect size for our small wedding party. Having celebrated with dinner on a boat up the canal,... More

Having had a nice meal at The Engineer a couple of years ago, I had high hopes when we visited recently of a repeat performance. I was left really disapointed, bordering on angry at my dining experience and I will never be coming back to this once charming pub in Primrose Hill. Upon entering the pub we were greeted pleasently... More

Just finished dining tonight and couldn't wait to get home to warn people about this place. The nut roast tastes literally like dog food...wine was okay. Service very inattentive. If I had known the food was so bad I would have gone to another beer garden! The outdoor space is a plus but they are relying too much on it,... More

Shockingly bad service given how empty the place was on a lovely summers evening (even the garden was only 25 percent full) and no wonder. This place used to be rammed. First visit for me since new owners took over and I am afraid it will be my last. I should say the staff were not rude but just slow... More

Visited here on Sunday 27th May. We ate at 6.00pm when restaurant opened. Ordered Roast Beef, it arrived very promptly, beef, vegetables where over cooked, (veg portion was small), roast pots burnt and Yorkshire was tough and chewy, had been reheated in microwave. Waitress was uninterested in my complaint, won't be going back!

Had a great evening on a recent visit to The Engineer with friends. Initially intended on only having drinks but when I saw the food I had to try it and it didn't disappoint, the Scotch Egg and the Burger are prob as good as it gets. Good selection of ales too, and the bar staff were knowledgable and friendly.... More
