With a beautiful restaurant, courtyard for summer dining, and function rooms available for hire, The Engineer is the perfect place to relax with friends and enjoy some serious food and drink in very un-serious surroundings. The food is an eclectic mix of super-fresh, well sourced ingredients influenced by many cuisine types and all made on the premises. Just finished dining tonight and couldn't wait to get home to warn people about this place. The nut roast tastes literally like dog food...wine was okay. Service very inattentive. If I had known the food was so bad I would have gone to another beer garden! The outdoor space is a plus but they are relying too much on it,... More

Shockingly bad service given how empty the place was on a lovely summers evening (even the garden was only 25 percent full) and no wonder. This place used to be rammed. First visit for me since new owners took over and I am afraid it will be my last. I should say the staff were not rude but just slow... More

Visited here on Sunday 27th May. We ate at 6.00pm when restaurant opened. Ordered Roast Beef, it arrived very promptly, beef, vegetables where over cooked, (veg portion was small), roast pots burnt and Yorkshire was tough and chewy, had been reheated in microwave. Waitress was uninterested in my complaint, won't be going back!

Had a great evening on a recent visit to The Engineer with friends. Initially intended on only having drinks but when I saw the food I had to try it and it didn't disappoint, the Scotch Egg and the Burger are prob as good as it gets. Good selection of ales too, and the bar staff were knowledgable and friendly.... More

The drinks here, particularly the cocktails, look excellent and preparation can be compared to the scene in Love Actually where Rowan Atkinson is gift wrapping a present for an increasingly intolerant Alan Rickman. A G&T is prepared with cucumber lovingly crafted in to twirls which are placed on top and accompanied by a further finely sliced cucumber which is wrapped... More

The Engineer under previous management was our favourite local gastro-pub. For a while we heard mixed reviews but after looking at the menu online we decided to give it a try. We went there with young kids so booked a table for 6:00pm. Only at 6:55pm the food arrived. The burgers reached the table COLD. The steak which was charged... More

We found the Engineer's while heading along the canal towards Primrose Hill after spending a manic hour on a Sunday morning at Camden Market. At just after 1300 the place was busy with folk enjoying a late breakfast or early lunch. We just had a couple of drinks , the staff were friendly the beer tasty and the seats very... More

What a treat. Wonderful food in the beautiful surroundings of Primrose Hill. A hot, tastey, well presented main course that melted in the mouth follow by warm chocolate brownie with homemade icecream. Amazing.

I came here with my family for lunch. We already had a booking, but needed to change it 4/5 times as the waitress kept coming back saying everything had run out. We ended up having to have beef and chips as there were no roast potatoes. It took 40 mins to come. The meat was cold, the Yorkshires were rock... More
