Great late evening tapas

We visited on a Sunday night about 10 pm after a concert at the Albert Hall and really enjoyed the food, wine, service and environment - we would definitely return. It was busy and efficient but also friendly and not at all rushed.

We ordered so many tapas that I can barely remember. But I do remember the Galician octopus. We ordered that twice. Cosy, just the right service, and all the food amazing.

This restaurant made having tapas a pure delight! Ham croquettes, lamb rib chops, 8 hour roasted tomatoes, shrimp, and Iberian ham platter (exquisite). Very nice wine by the glass since the 3 of us preferred our own choices.

This restaurant was suggested by our hotel and we were so delighted with the food. We loved the gambas, scrambled egg in a wine glass, bone marrow was so good and enough for 4 people, stuffed chicken wings. It just went on and on and each dish was better than the last. Order a lot and share! The staff was... More

It's not the cheapest Tapas ive ever had, but it is in Kensington so that sort of goes with the territory. Really nice food though, and if you're into celeb spotting, Hugh Grant was at also eating there the night we went.

My wife and I are Chicagoans, and are quite familiar with Spanish Tapas fare with several top notch restaurants in Chicago (Cafe Iberico, Café Ba Ba Reeba, Mercat a la Planxa (owned by Iron Chef Jose Garces)), so we had a pretty god idea of what to expect at Cambio de Tercio. But, we were, in short, blown away by... More

Appallingly slow, slightly rude and aggressively "pushy" service. The cheese and the jamon de Serrano , which one might expect to be ok as they are not cooked, were allowed to have "sweated" somewhere warm before being served in a sickly oily goo. Prices are ridiculously over the top for, frankly, mediocre fare. This place was great 10 years ago... More

Regular client, I have never been disappointed. I always go for the solution of 3-4 tapas per person (3 is actually enough). My favourite is the long baked tomatoes (almost sweet), but everything is excellent, even the lamb chops are very very tasty and tender. However, I must say I am always very shocked by the high price, ...

The food was really good, can't complain about that. My issue was that we had a booking for 7pm, & was told in my confirmation email that I had a two hour slot. Bizarre, but I accepted this fact. On the evening, we were rushed, with plates practically being taken away before being finished, our wine glasses being refilled before... More

Four of us shared a number of tapas and two main courses all of which were extremely tasty -- except for the calamari which was fine but not very interesting. The food arrived quickly, almost too quickly yet was well presented and just enough. The Iberico pork and the dried tomatoes were probably the favourite along with the Padron peppers.... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
